I'm going to see if the one off my Rage will work. It was the same plug as the Apex. I'll see if I can find my old race car tach to compare the 2 rpm's at the same time.

For sure!
I think part of the problem with the apex gauge, is its part of the brains/ecu. Its set to send signals to the fuel injection system, thats why it has a barometer built in. Also if it is part of the ecu its set up for 4 cylinders not 3 and that would change the rpm's. Just a thought I had since I just traded a apex mnt for a nytro.
I'll hook up the rage gauge tomorrow and see how it works.

I'm sure it's a 3 vs 4 cyl issue...just got to correct the signal to the tach. Most aftermarket tachs are adjustable in this regard. I tried a VDO but couldn't get it to read either...I ran out of time to actually figure it out...

Yea for sure the pulse is wrong for the tach. So two ways to fix it some how change the pulse to the same as a 4 cyl or some one must know how to take the gauge apart and make the change. I was looking on the web and found stuff. When putting a V8 350 in a S-10 with a V6 the tach is off and they added like a diode in the stock chevy tach to fix it. So i know it can be done! The Rage gauge will work but the APEX gauge is just so much cooler!!

Hey Skydog i was gonna call u after fire training but it was late i put that gauge back in the 07 nytro and it doesnt turn on with the key. it has to be running before the gauge gets power im thinking because its not EFI doesnt need power to fuel pump. which makes the 07 nytro carb not to send power everywhere untill the machine is running. just like the old days so im thinking the 09 vector EFI will work??????????????? Comeon comeone comeone

What did you do to get the RPM's right on the apex gauge?

The Apex gauge is cool, but awfull spendy. A Venture guage looks nice, with an easy to read tach.

The new 09 EFI gauge is the same as the Apex. Not going to spend $500.00 to try you can. I would bet it would work great! But i am happy with my Apex set up!!
