Bought 08 Mountain MTX wrecked got a hell of deal. Problem is i don't ride the mountains. Can i convert this to xtx 144 or can i trail ride this mountain by making some changes? Can i just take off the extension and put in a 144. If some one is looking to long track theres mine might be avaliable. Skid and track only has 570 miles. I ride mainly ditches and trail ride.

I ride my MTX trails, ditches, and mountains and love it! Rode an XTX and it NEEDS a 1-3/4" track unless you are on the trails lots.

I don't think the mtx would be a bad trail sled if it was a little wider up front. If you added wider a arms up front and trim the track a little (i trimed off 1/2'') it would be a great crossover sled. Changeing the skis would also be a good idea.

Yes, the front end will be widened. I was planning on cutting down the track to 1-1/4. But first wanted to get some opinions on it first. I bought it wrecked one hell of a deal otherwise i wouldn't even bought a long track.
