Nytro should I pull the trigger?

Hi everyone,

Looking to trade in my Rx1. Been reading a lot of these nytro threads throughout the last few weeks. I want to stay with Yamaha for the engine reliability and the quality of the product.
I just dont know if it worth spending $$ on a new sled that needs so many upgrades.
Skis, revalving shocks, relocation this, replace that, install a trail tank so I can go more than 120 km before needing to gas up.
That's a fair chunk of change to get it to preform like an outta the box doo.
The prices are pretty good this time of year. There are a bunch of left over sleds. Cannot make up my mind.
Thanks

Pull the trigger, all the "upgrades" aren't needed to ride the thing. Yes they will help out considerably but you don't need all the stuff guys have listed on here to have a blast on it. Love mine and I'm just slowly adding all the fun stuff piece by piece ;)!

Which skis?
Mostly trail with the occasional dip in the deep stuff?

I would suggest a 6.9 wide ski with a single carbide.

Gives more floatation and I find the dual carbide skis nice on hard pack, but push like crazy in loose snow.

To me the nytro has the best riding position of all the sleds I've tried and I love the up/down steering motion. All the rest of the nytro's short commings, aside from weight, can be fixed via mods.

The nytro may need mods, but the beauty of it is it will last long enough for you to enjoy them.

Do it now!!!!
;)!

Go for it and add pilot 6.9 skis!

Best advice ever.

I do the same type riding. I suggest simmons gen 1 with 6 to 8 inch carbides inside and outside. These things rail trails, don't dart, and are good in the powder. I'm very happy with mine. Just ditch the stock skis, add a set of hyfax saver wheels, and you'll have a blast on this animal. I was a die hard polaris rider, had an IQR race sled with 600 ves in it, thought it was a blast till I tried a 4 stroke phazer. Fell in love with the torque, fuel mileage, and turn key reliability. This led to my nytro purchase this season, absolutely love it. The piece of mind you get from just turning the key and riding is worth the price of admission. Not to mention the horny torque, great ergos, and great overall quality. My .02.

Is it possible to reduce the weight by 50 lbs without serious coin? I got about 30 lbs off my phazer from the exhaust, skis and battery.

I did the same to my phazer, 30 would be more realistic than 50 with the nytro too. 12 lbs savings with exhaust + more hp, gel battery, skis, etc. The power of the nytro doesn't make it seem heavy, 50 lbs heavier than phazer but 50 more ponies too. Remember everything is heavy when buried in powder ha,ha. I still have my phazer (son rides it), but not disappointed I switched to the nytro. Have you test rode a nytro? It's a totally different rider position and feel.
