Nytro should I pull the trigger?

Is it possible to reduce the weight by 50 lbs without serious coin? I got about 30 lbs off my phazer from the exhaust, skis and battery.
I did the same to my phazer, 30 would be more realistic than 50 with the nytro too. 12 lbs savings with exhaust + more hp, gel battery, skis, etc. The power of the nytro doesn't make it seem heavy, 50 lbs heavier than phazer but 50 more ponies too. Remember everything is heavy when buried in powder ha,ha. I still have my phazer (son rides it), but not disappointed I switched to the nytro. Have you test rode a nytro? It's a totally different rider position and feel.

I rode a black xtx last year and fell in love with the engine. I was with the Dealership's manager at the time. We switched up and I couldn't even come close to catching my phazer! Hahaha. I know that with some saddle time it would be a different story but its hard to get over the weight issue. By brother's 800xp is a LOT lighter than either Yamaha and 160 hp! That's a tough act to follow. Do I trade off weight for rebuilding my engine every year? I ride a lot.

I havent ridden a nytro yet. Ive ridden my buddies new xp. same kinda rider forward riding position I think. I like it better. Easier to stand and ride which I love to do.

I was like you should I shouldnt I, I wanted to ride a xp before I bought a nytro but a deal came up on a nytro so I pulled the trigger on it. I finally got to ride a xp this weekend for about 180 miles I wasnt as impressed as everybody else seems to be with those sleds. I raced snocross for years and can beat a sled with the best of them. It just felt like a tin can, it almost felt so light that the suspension wouldnt give and it bounced everywhere. I talked to a few guys riding nytro's and one of them on a xtx and he said his sled was handling the trails like a dream, so it was reaffirimng to me to hear that after just buying one. I think the only time the weight will bother me is when I get into doing some jumping, other than that I am looking forward to riding a 'true trail sled" . good luck in your decision.

I rode my buddies XP, they are nothing similar. I felt like I was way too big for it and I'm 6' 2". Like similar to riding a mini bike or that's what it felt like lol. Bars too short, seat too fat, and overall felt small and really weird. His had the 800R and it didn't feel like it had all that much power but that's the difference in torque and the high stung 2 smoker. It would go but you would have to get it wound up. Did handle good though. Nytro has much better seat to stand transition. And I don't have to lean over while standing to hold the bars. Was glad to get switch back to the nytro, I actually fit on it ;)!

I'm a convert. Had my heart set on a 2011 600 E-Tec X Package and couldn't find one when I needed to pull the trigger so ended up, reluctantly, with a leftover Nytro because I got a great deal. Have about 1300 miles on the Nytro now... after the past 7 years on ONLY Doos - and I can't believe I like it as much as I do. I have the opportunity to trade on and off with a couple buddies on XP-X packages and older '06-'07 Rev X packages and I can't wait to get back on the Nytro. It took me a bit to set up the suspension, and NEEDED skis to settle it down at high speed and when coming off the throttle - but now it flat out rails corners / trails and soaks up any bump I throw at it. I ride aggressively, mostly standing, moderate to big bumps, some mild jumping and the suspension on my FX (not the RTX) soaks it all up. As someone said earlier, when I get on the new XP now it just feels too - dare I say - light? Plus, hands down, the sitting to standing to sitting transition in better on the Nytro.

if you like standing up while riding you'll love the xtx i had a rx-1 broke the suspension twice from jumping and whats so ever switched the nytro and wouldn't want anything different such an amazing machine

I would suggest buying a slightly used one, with some good mods already done to it, a trail tank, extra cooler and bigger wheels.

#1 on your list of mods should be to revalve the rear shocks. Everyone talks abut Hygear and spending 1200 bucks to get their super package blah blah blah. I'm sure all that is really great, and works awesome. But all you really need is is get the rear shocks re-valved by a pro for your weight and riding style. Cost me $146 and the difference is night and day. Turned it into a sled I could have handled riding for another few years...too bad I already sold it.

In all honesty, I'd buy a 1200 doo before I would another nytro. Anyone looking to buy a NEW sled, should wait til Cat releases their sleds...

You don't need to do all that i have buddies that ride these things stock just alittle shock adjustments and they have 6 " carbide on stock skies . Buy it and ride it first then make adjustment after that you may like just the way it is

Thats sound advice too. But I would never ride a nytro with stock shock valving after riding my old nytro with revalved shocks.

Hey sleddingfarmer, where did you get your shocks revalved at?

B-line Control Located in Lindstrom, MN

His name is Bruce 651-257-0828

If you ride really aggressively, tell him you weigh 25 pounds more than you actually do. Then it will be perfect.
