Ive got an 08 40th mtx with a bent subframe since pretty much day one. My question is can i buy an aftermarket subframe (which im having trouble finding a website)or do i need to buy stock and beef it up. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

diamond-s, i belive, is the only ones making an aftermarket cromoly or titanium subframe they are pretty spendy but they save a bunch of weight. you can buy an 09-present subframe also that are better than the 08 one you have and if you really want to beef that one up contact "grizztracks" here on ty he has a beefup kit that you can make the subframe very strong.

Got the same problem. Just ordered the frame kit from Grizztracks, shoot him a pm for info. I did alot of searching and reading on here the past few weeks, depending on how bad the frame is bent, you can fix it.
I took the subframe off and disassembled it, did some tweeking and put it back on the machine. Put my a-arms and shocks on and finished tweeking and bending everthing back as straight as I can get it.

My right ski is back from the left at least four inches. Thanks for the reply I'll prolly buy a newer one from Yamaha and hope for the best. Might do skinz front end this year also.

Mine was almost 4 off too. Was alot of pulling to get it back. If you do get a new frame put Grizztracks kit in also.

I noticed something on mine that I never noticed. I was taking my Floats off and reinstalling my OEM coilovers and noticed the left coilover was almost rubbing on my top a-arm and the right side was about 1/2" from the top a-arm. Does this mean I may have a tweaked sub frame? I bought this 08 that already had a 09 sub frame installed. Never took a hard shot or anything off the front, so not sure if it was tweaked when I purchased it. Can I do the pry bar trick to maybe move it 1/4"?

One you bend the sf metal and try and move it back to position it will bend twice as easy on the next hit.

That is a temporary fix, you will need to replace the sf

Really is diamond s the only company out there that makes a light weight or new subframe for the nytro?... There most be some one else out there. But the diamond s ones look sick, but is the price worth the six pounds? Or do you think that they might save more

Diamond S is the only company that i have come across that actually sells either a Chromalloy one or titanium one. Its just too small of a market that people can't compete with OEM pricing after you factor in the fabrication time of a new one.
I have read on line that the sub frames are nice units but i think you are the only one who can answer the question if it is worth it for 6 lbs. i have read that roughly 6 pounds is what you save.

You do have to drill out all the body mounting holes yourself.
