Anyone lined up with their Nytro with a 1200 ski-doo four stroke? I've got a bone stock RTX SE with 144 studs and an XTX with clutching, under tunnel exhaust, PC5, K&N intake, and Hygear suspension front & rear...the old man is already talking sh!t with his bone stock studded 1200. What's the outcome gonna be? (I'd rather just find out for myself, but the brown grass and 50 degree temps are putting a damper on things )
from what I've read, they seem to trade wins...both sleds are very equal. I would like to race one aswell, but it better be modded or it won't stand a chance.

Maybe Mike Knapp will chime in here. He has a 1200 with clutching and exhaust running with his Attak.

last year I lined up in our local drag races with one twice and I beat him both times by about a 2-3 sled lengths. both machines were stock except I had a stock track with 114 studs

My 1200 Doo will outrun even the new 2011 Apex. The last Nytro I raced couldn't even be called a race, 1200 just motering right on away from bottom to top hard. Just a header and Powerblock 80 clutch on my 1200. I love riding that 1200! Some will say sure its not stock, but just a header, clutch and tightening the throttle to pull wide open, (factory only sets the throttle to no more than 75% open) Is really not that much done if you ask me.

stock is out of the box, start it and race it,not add 10 items to it and still call it stock,i have a friend that's got a 2007 apex,he says its stock, but nothing can catch it,turbo cats, mach z,thundercats,800 etecs, you name it,any sled he has in his hands is faster than the other guy,he's a smart man, last year he had a nytro xtx smoking the turbo cats, drags and speed runs,go figure, most probably dont beleive this but its ok with me

Was the last nytro you raced stock? A 1200 with the mods you have will make 150ish hp and makes a huge difference in performance....too bad we weren't closer, I'd love to run a well set up 1200.

Lots of 1200 doos and Nytros floating around. The first week out with my Nytro XTX was with a friend and his tnt 1200. My box stock Nytro XTX running on a lake on sloppy ice ran a best of 107 mph gps. The stock 1200 had a 1" track slightly studded and ran a best of 105, but when running across the lake, we were all neck in neck including an Attack that was with our group. My Nytro had the best bottom end even with no studs where the doo had an elastic type of power, but still come on strong. Friend with the Attack is usually a few mph faster then me, but on that day in those conditions it wasn't. Nytro and Doo 1200 are pretty close and I wouldn't bet on a win unless it was a 660' run.
Outside the internet, I've never seen any well tuned N/A 1200 doo run in the mid/high teens or 120s. Not the same can be said of some of our well tuned N/A Apex's in my area.

Had pretty much the same results against a 1200, both were stock with no studs.
I'd tell you, but we don't have any fricking snow!
At least I rode my xtx last year. My pal bought his 1200 in Oct and it has .5 miles on it. Mostly because we ran it. 2 mile on the stand.

I guess the consensus is the stock version of the 1200 shouldn't be much of a problem...thanks for the feed-back. If we ever get some snow, the PC5 is getting a custom program by an anonymous source which should stretch the XTX to it's fullest potential....can't friggin' wait! come on snow! Where the H-E-double hockey sticks are you!!!

A stock Nytro will beat a stock 1200 shorty in a short drag... A stock 1200 will beat a 121" Nytro on top end. They don't (121" Nytro) have the gearing for it. My stock 2010 1200 tnt 1" track, no clutching or mods, no studs ran 108mph GPS on a road... You would be lucky to fins a 121" Nytro in stock form run more then a 100-102mph.... Sold my 1200... I now own a 2011 1200 Gade..
A stock 1200 gade will beat a Nytro shorty and a stock Nytro XTX will not beat a 1200 gade in drag, but it may walk it up top... The gearing of the 1200 gade would hold it up and stock clutching on top end is not good...
Now a modded 1200 gade and a modded anything besides a Turbo/Nos sled will have its hands full...especially in a drag race in 1/4 mile or less.... Now top end, yes the Modded 1000 2 strokes and Apex may beat it up top... (depending on the setup) When I mean modded as for the 1200, I mean what Mike Knapp has with the addition of an RB3 to bump the REV limiter, which would allow the 1200 to run almost 900RPM more then stock... Plus timing...
The 1200 is an awesome motor... The 1200 produces so much torque, (about 10FTlbs at a lower RPM, more then a Nytro. If you don't have a 136" track, the power is getting wasted out the track.... If anyone wants to see some dyno reports from Dunotec, you will see it in a graph over the Nytro motor of how much torque it has... It spikes in power and torque.. Ryan...too bad you weren't closer...

Gotta disagree with ya on the hp/tq numbers Andy...Nytro typically pulls in the low to mid 90s for torque...Doo is in the high 80s for torque...both motors are very equal.....and if we were closer...my shorty would be spanking your Gade

two of my friends have a nytro shorty and a 1200 shorty, no clutching in either, both have 2 studs per bar up the middle, both trade wins in a 1000ft run, it all depends on who gets out of the gate the best
