Finally got my nytro last week!!!!!

Just wondering how the stock weight settings are with Yamahas (this is my first one). Heading to Revy in a couple weeks and wanting to know which weights to use. Everything else is stock.

Thanks :4STroke:

Does anybody know which helix is in the secondary, sled is not here yet so I can,t check. I am sure I will be changing the whole set up as usaul, yamaha stock clutching as never been the best set up, I usaully change rollers, wieghts and helix, from what I can tell so far it looks like they have put 15.6 rollers in which is the first thing to go in my sled, more aggresive wieghts and a steeper helix is usaully what works for me at 10,000 ft. of course the turbo will help as well.

thanks ski, but how close are the factory reccommendations to being the best set up?

snowy, mtx's come with 39* helix, shorty's come with 43*.

saska, dont think anyone knows the "best" set ups yet. not many have the sleds and have rideable testing snow.

best you can do is start with yamahas alt specs, and search for target rpms. testing trying rivets, springs, weights, rollers and secondary set ups, against a stock sled with nothing done to it as a "mule".

test test test, than duplicate the results. i know it is not what you want to hear but that is how it works. ski

May not be what I want to hear but thanks for at least being honest. Trial by error I guess.

I have the stock settings (8-10K feet). revs out at 9200+rpm. Only for short bursts though. I guess we'll see in a couple weeks.
