Hey guys, I blew my shock apart last weekend on our RAP tour, and now it needs a recharge. What happened was the remote reservoir got slammed down and caused the rubber hose to twist and loosen the fitting..leaking out all my gas/fluid in the shock.

Seeing as the shock needs a recharge now, I have read some great things about getting them revalved also. When I was riding the sled with the blown shock, the softer ride was very nice, so I figure the valving needs to be softer? I really don't know much about this, hoping you guys can help me out with more information and direct me to some great places to do the revalve/recharge. I would be willing to ship it if the place isn't local.

I am considering the Star Suspensions XTX kit, but not sure if they do revalve/recharge. I don't read french that well :o|

PS. I do 95% trail riding, medium aggressive, but I do not blitz through whoops/moguls and slam the skid around. I also do not jump, but if there is a hill on the trail, i usually like to do a wheelie off it and get some air.

My buddy twiz28 (name on this site) just got the full meal deal on his XTX from star suspension and loves it...give him a pm for any info, he also speaks french so he can translate...also look around on their website as I think there is an English section.

Send your shocks to Dean at Peak Velocity in Clarmont...15 min from your house and he knows what he is doing..he can do custom valving.

If you ever want to deal with Star and you need some help in french, I can help you.

star

I can't say enough about Star. Really pleased with the work they did for me. Don't let the french website turn you away, they responded to all my questions in english and thier secretary, Athena is completely bilingual. They also offer a reinforcing sleeve for the shock that I would recommend as I have seen others on this site blown out (thats on the 09 shocks, I believe later years were upgraded)

Did the kit eliminate the 5-6" of sag the XTX tends to have? I already have spacers in my springs, but they didn't seem to help much.

And thanks for the info Ryan, I will give him a call sometime soon and see what he can offer me!
