Oft relocater

Idk if it necessarily lightens it. But it takes away any slop in the stock bushing. Plus it puts the bars in a better spot IMO. Turning the bars is more flat rather than a kind up pushing up and pulling down.

I guess in a sense it does lighten the steering for me. The steering axis is more flattened with it , which makes it easier to steer, especially in tight turns. I also like it because you get about a 2" rise and moves you even farther forward. I find myself standing on my sled much more. Not to say that sitting is uncomfortable...just love standing..the bushings that you get with OFT are oilite, which seem smoother than the plastic stock ones....GO FOR IT!!!! ;)!

I'm 6ft and it's comfortable for me, 5'4" migt be reaching a bit....do a mock test.....the OFT telocator will put your steering post a bit higher than the top of where it mounts now...put your hands in that area and see if it feels ok...keep in mind it's Christmas eve nad Im half in te bag rigt now so work wit me on this...what I m trying to say is look at pics of it, then get on youjr sled and pretend you have it, try to visualize where your hands will be,

I did my own relocate that moves the steering about 1/2 the distance of the OFT kit. I had to make a couple adapter plates and it reuses the OEM plastic blocks so it's not as nice as OFT's but it works. I wanted to try this out before buying the more expensive kit. I haven't had a chance to take it out on the trail yet but I did take it around the house a few times and it feels pretty good. I'm 5'9" and at this point I don't know if I'd want to move it as far as OFT did. I do feel as if I'm reaching a little bit but I think after a few rides I'll like it and may eventually want to go with the OFT kit.

Does this lighten the steering effort any? I have an 09 XTX.
In theory it does not lighten the steering effort since it brings the rider more forward and thereby puts more weight on the skis. However, in the real world scenario it does lighten the steering effort, especially if you are a stand up rider. The standard handlebar position and the angle of the arc that the handlebars do during a turn is just horrible for stand up riding. With a steering post relocator you get a much more decent handlebar position and a flatter arc during turning. In my opinion, much better and less exhausting for stand up riding.

Any trouble with the hand gaurds hitting the wind screen. I am running the yamaha tall verson on my xtx?

I am 6 foot and the rise and placement is perfect for me, I even find myself standing through turns because it is such a perfect fit....

Here's a picture of ralger's sled:

His Nytro has our relocator, the tall windscreen and the oversized "dumbo" ears. He told me that he had to adjust the hand guards slightly, but there were no clearance problems after that.

I did the same, except full went the full 3". it is where they should have been anyway. I did it mid season, so I am sure that its a way better body position on that axis. less fatigue = easier steering. you can still roll the bars back to suit you, its the axis your after. I took th handguards off and use guantlets. way better, no gloves even
