OFT relocator or skis? Need opinions

definitely SKIS, stock are terrible. I put a lake effect adjustable riser on and it made a huge difference in the handle bar position. I don't have an oft relocator but the skis made an enormous difference.

I say find a good set of skis first also. The are a lot of threads here on opinions on which brand of ski is best, just be honest on what type of riding you do and what you want your skis to accomplish, ie, flotation, darting, aggressive, etc.

Regarding the OFT relocator, it is a great product, easier steering and better steering geometry help the Nytro immensely. Grizztracks has a "how to" homemade steering mod you can try, to give you an idea on what the OFT relocate accomplishes. You can see it here: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... hlight=oft

I tried it and shortly afterwards, I ordered the OFT one because I liked the improvement, so I went one better.

Skies first. You will end up doing both but having the confidence that the sled will turn is The way to go. To me it doesn't matter how good I feels to turn the bars if the sled won't go where you turn them.

I was thinking about this last night and I got thinking about last season and how frusterated I was (and nervous) when I would come into a turn just a bit too fast. Once I almost landed in the trees cause of those damn skis. Skis it is for me, OFT relocater at a later date.

So another question, I cant find a used set of 6.9 pilots anywhere so what do I need to order when I order the skis? I believe the ski loops from the factory skis will fit on the pilots wont they?

Thanks for all the help, just reassures me that an OFT relocator in going to be another add-on in the future.

Pioneer sells a Pilot Ski 'kit' in which they will send you everything you need to bolt on to the Nytro. I think its around $250. You will need carbides on top of that. I have always run 6" center w/ 4" outer with good results. This year I put on a pair of 6" shaper bars for the center but we are still w/o snow to give a report.

I think I am putting on the same. 6 inch shapers in the center and 4 inch on the outside. What is the website for pioneer?

I'm new to this "OFT", first I've heard of it when I joined this site. What does it do? Move the steering post up?

Up a bit and forward. I haven't rode the sled yet with it (no snow) but I would say without it the. Are move more like a steering wheel in a car (up and down) and with it more like a sled (push pull)

And the shaper bars are great. I run 9in on C&A pro razors. I haven't used a burm to turn since!

Thanks didn't mean to hyjack. Shaper bars are awesome, especially with C&A's. Zero issues, no darting and never washing out int he corners.

Scroll down to the bottom where all the TY site vendor's are located and Pioneer Performance is one of them...just click on the logo/link.

I am thinking of putting the black and white skis on but keeping the blue yamaha ski loops. Think the black and white skis would be cheap looking? Here is a pic of the machine.

theyd go with your bugshield...oops im sorry i mean windshield. its just soo loow.
glad you decided to go with skis. you will be very happy the first time u turn around inside a groomer width, or go into fresh pow and the front doesnt sink out of sight, or u turn full lock and it turns instead of pushing up a berm of snow and fighting the track.
been on here a while. pilots or simmons seem to get the best reviews with the xtx(aftermarket company) ski coming in third to the powderhound 4th. just going by all the polls and all what ive seen people are running. IMO i believe in a dual keel to help make the front float in soft snow. it also helps in SNIRT or roadriding as the carbide is against the hard surface, not plastic getting ground away.(even when ur half on a snowbank saving one ski)

Just ordered the 6.9's. Cant wait till I get everything in now. Lately BRP has gotten too much money from me, just ordered a modular 2 helmet also. Had 0 miles on it and had to exchange it because it was having issues from day 1! Got the second one and seems ok so far, hope the skis are better than the first helmet.
