I was a bit luckier a couple of weeks ago. Saw her coming so got it slowed up a bit, but she still flew 13 yards from her last hoof print to where she landed and then rolled another 10 feet or so. Lucky she was a small deer, all it did was crushed in my oil tank a little and broke a plastic clip for the fairing. Glad your son is ok.

No we did not tow it back. I paid a local guy to trailer both sleds back to where we were staying. The right ski was partially torn away from the saddle and it would have been quite a trip on a tow rope.

pat the rat said:wouldnt want that to happen to me,but last year we almost hit an adult moose at night,i was going around 100 km hour when the damn thing just crossed the trail, jammed the brake and skidded around 75 feet,i stopped about 20ft from the moose and it hit the bush, phew
I hit a moose between Marten River and Temagami back in Feb'03, I was riding an '01 mxzx 800 with a loud DNE can. It was pitch black and I was doing 40 mph and it jumped out in front of me, It turned and I hit it square in the rear end. I snapped my right wrist and bruised my ribs. I had 2 surguries on my wrist and I have a steel plate and three screws in it. I was off work for 4 months.

Guy in Manitoba are sticking deer whistles on thier 4 strokes. They are little plastic things that you can stick on with 2 sided tape. Makes the deer run away. Canadian tire stores. Under $10.

Sounds painful.
