Bear with me here if I say something stupid since I haven't even seen my Attak yet...it's been ordered. Never had a 4 stroke sled.
I have taken to changing oil in most everything I own with a suction pump I bought for my Mercruiser powered I/O boat. I use the pump on all my cars, lawnmowers, motorcycle, the boat of course, etc. No mess, no drain pans, no laying on the ground, no drips on the garage floor, no stripped drain plug or scrambling for a gasket for it, none of that junk. Works outstanding. It's just a narrow tube you send down the dipstick tube until it knocks the bottom of the oil pan, turn the pump on, wait 5 minutes, and it sucks everything dry right into an easy to carry sealed container. Container is marked so you know exactly how many ounces you pulled out to ensure none was missed. Now you change filter and refill. Done.
Could such a device be used effectively on these sleds? I understand we have to drain both the oil pan and a separate reservoir. Does anyone see a reason why just sucking the oil out if both these locations from the topside wouldn't work?

No.
No, what? Sorry, lazybastard, but I guess I ended up asking two questions in the end of my wordy post...my bad.
No, it can't be used effectively? Or no, you don't see a reason it wouldn't work?

It would work on the oil tank but not the motor. No dipstick hole in the motor just the cap on top of the valve cover. Can't get your suction device into the motor oil pan from the valve cover.

Exactly, dry sump motor.
You could get a great deal of oil from the oil tank itself, but not directly from the motor..

the reason those type of pumps are used on IO boats is cause its too hard to get access to under motor in a boat...so we pump it out of dipstick,i also have a IO and do the same...this is NOT the best way to change oil,as quite abit does NOT come out...but its the best easiest way to do a boat.
with our sleds, when you change oil you can get most ALL the oil out easily with a simple plug here and another there..pumping is for boats...we have easy access here..sled oil change is sooo easy...and complete.

While it will not get every last drop out it will work. The sunction pump is exactly how Yamaha Service changes oil on the 4-stroke jet skis.

It will not work. There is a oil tank where the sump is located on the gearbox side of the motor. It would work on that but you can't get to the remaining oil thats left in the motor (about a half quart or so).
