My buddy's sled has an oil leak and I was wondering what oil is used for the yamacharger. It's blue?

They have no oil in them. They can leak motor oil if a bearing seal is bad or the o ring on the PTO shaft or oring on the bearing housing is not tight or is bad. None of which seal pressurized oil and should never leave you stranded.

Really? His has an extra tank with lines running to the S/C on a dry sump system. We called the dealer and apparently just regular oil works. First ride was yesterday and we put 200km on it so well see what happens today, either way one of the seals is leaking so it'll be going back to the dealer.

Then it's a supercharger you are talking about, maybe from MPI? You need to use special oil from rotrex or MPI i think it's called "rotrex traction oil" and its clear/blue in color.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I was under the impression that this was one from yamaha. That sounds right about the oil...hopefully it doesn't screw up the charger running regular 10-30 in it. We had to add oil and were at the cottage right now with limited supplies.

I should add, this is in a nytro.

adding regular oil will damage the supercharger - there is a traction material in the oil that is necessary to drive the supercharger - without it, or a reduced amount the drive inside will slip and damage it
