I am putting a vector motor in a ski doo rev chassis and I am wanting to grind the nubs off the front of the oil pan to give me just a bit more room. Wondering is anyone knows if this is ok or has a pic of the inside of a nytro or vector oil pan to see how the casting is at these nubs?

The nubs are put in there for the engine to stand on when you have it on the workbench. I would remove the oil pan to have a look inside before I grind them off, if noone can post a pic of what it looks like in there that is.

hmmm.

This is kinda what I figured. I am guesing that the cast is smooth on the inside and these are just external boss's. I need to remove them to get the motor to sit very low in the chassis. Right now they hit the front of the bulkhead. I will wait to see if anyone has a pic of a pan. I will probally get rid of them no matter what and weld the holes back shut if I need to.

Yep

So tonight i ground off the nubs. I am glad that i did. It allowed for the motor to sit probally a inch lower in the bulkhead with enough clearance around the oil pan. Here is a pic
