Has anyone got the oil pan off without removing the engine? I’m missing 4 of the small teeth off the starters idle gear and believe the oil pan is where to look or them. I was just going to leave them but after thinking of it all weekend I guess I should try to find them

So I’ve taken motor mount bolts out and lifted the motor a bit. Still pretty tight. before I damage the pan gasket and go further. This machine is a 2007 vk pro. Would the teeth be in the pan or do you think the filter may eventually pick them up?

usually they end up wandering into the stator and messing it up. have you tried fishing with a magnet through the holes in the block?

I have fished around everywhere possible. I pulled the flywheel hoping they were stuck to the back but no luck. Stator doesn’t even have a scratch
