I just reinstalled my engine after overhauling it and would like to verify the oil pump is pumping before I fire it up. I filled the oil tank and blew air into it with the return line disconnected and plugged. But when I turn the engine over by hand no oil is coming out my turbo feed line which is off of the oil filter. Just wondering if the oil pump will pump turning over by hand? On the bench it would spit out oil when it was turned over by hand.
Any input here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What if you just pull the fuel pump relay and crank it over for a bit. I assume you coated the bearings with assembly lube so u should be protected for a while at start up anyway

It's all good now. I had to pressurize the oil tank with compressed air. Now I have oil coming out the return line so the system is primed and full.
