My oil tank was just barely leaking where it attaches to the chaincase.
Took it in and they fixed it under warranty.

It was there a week. Come to find out they tell me there aint even a gasket behind it. It is RTV silicone all the way around.
So I thought they were waiting for parts and thats why it took a week.

Guess I'm not as important as I thought I was. LOL

Maybe the rtv was on back order ....lol
Or the auto parts store just took alittle while to get it down to them :dunno:

More likely they sold some ATVS and got them ready and knew we snowmobilers couldn't ride. Let's hope
Yamadoo

just did a spring service on my ltx 1600 km.s noticed the oil tank is leaking also at the mating surface and the heat shield rivets are now loose off to the dealer with it

Didn't you know, you have to spring order RTV. Your lucky they fixed it's, :drink:

What's wrong with RTV , that's the way they have been putting crank cases together for years and they haven't leaked ! Sealants are used in a lot more places than you would think ! Car , trucks , motorcycles , ATV , snowmobiles ect.

I'm having the same problem. It's going in to be fixed soon. I don't like to hear of these kind of problems but a little relieved that It's not just mine that's leaking.
