Just changed oil in my sleds today. All I have is one question!!! Is there a way to remove the oil filter on the rx1 and attack with out getting a bunch of oil dripping into the bottom of the engine compartment. I packed rags below it but I still got oil all over.

Probably not the answer you're looking for but how about the remote filter kit for both?

I rember way back, (2003) when I did mine Id stuff rags and whatever else I could get down there to catch oil, never did quite get it all, so the answer is NOPE....
And if I also remeber correctly some on had posted, ( about a million ago) to put tin foil down there to catch it.

No I just stuff paper towels or rags and then clean up as much as possible prior to installing the new filter.

Maybe you could jack up the front of the sled as high as possible before removing the filter.
stomper, i lift the back of the sled up about three feet, and put a rag under the filter. That way what ever oil is missed by the rag doesn't run toward the back of the sled.

Ulmer sells a re-locate kit for $175.00.

Look about halfway down on the "Accessories" page.
I've never used or seen one of these kits, I just know it's an option.

I drain the tank and the bottom of the motor before I change the filter. Hardly any oil drips out of the filter. Not enough to worry about it anyway. I don't put any rags or paper down.
