Ok it's dumb, but how many miles should I put on my dive belt before I change it for the Apex. Seems to be okay now at 1900 miles. But what is the average??

Till it blows or once a year.

Most guys replace them every year as part of their regular maintenance. I have gone 2 years and put over 2K miles on the stock belt without any problems though. Tried an after market one once. Got almost 800 miles on it before it took out the belt guard!

I went years on my XLT and never changed it out, this Vector I am not so sure?
Last time I was loading it in the trailer, I could have sworn I smelled a burning belt, any ideas??

Clean the clutch surfaces. If they appear dirty the belt slips. Also make sure to wash new belts with soap and water and let them completly dry before installing. Then 30 miles of very easy driving to break in.

I had 5500 miles until i changed mine. Yamaha clutches are very easy and kind to belts.Irv said:I went years on my XLT and never changed it out, this Vector I am not so sure?

I truely beleive the OEM belt will go longer then one season but I change them yearly. I would hate to blow body parts off the sled for what the price of a belt cost.

I just changed my original belt after 1500 miles, blew apart on trail. My frind got 3500 I think out of his belt. Man what a difference with a new belt, I think I will be changing it yearly now, it is like a new sled when you put a new belt on,pick up is unbelievable, who needs a clutch kit, just get a new belt every ride LOLOL
