I'm now coming with 5 people, and a couple of them will be out of town until the thursday the 7th, they have NY permits but not Old Forge permits.

Can we buy Old Forge permits over the counter?

Yes you can get when you get there. They sell them at the infromation center right next to slickers!!

By the way, I see you are staying at the Waters Edge. Nice place...you'll be happy there. The information center they are talking about is about 100 yards from the Waters Edge. If you arrive at night and they are not open, you can get away with riding without a permit for the night. They usually don't hassle you at night. Just pick one up in the morning.

Also, From the Waters Edge to Daikers is 15 - 17 minutes by sled if you take the trail up to 3rd lake then hop on the lake. It is a little tricky to figure out if it is your first time. Otherwise, you can take the trail up to Daikers and it only takes about 25 minutes or so. From Daikers to Big Moose is only about 15 - 30 minutes by sled depending on which way you go.

Waters Edge is a good choice though. You'll be happy.

I'm in with my stock Apex, make my shirt a large.

I still need to make reservations, probably trailer up there solo Friday night afterwork and will have to get a permit the next AM.
As of now I have a spot in my trailer if anyone from the Buffalo area is looking for a ride.

And to everyone, SPEED, DAMIEN609, and Myself, will be at slickers Friday night from 7:00pm on have drinks. So if you guys want to come out we can tell you any thing you need and get you guys set up with Old Forge. Also finalize any questions on the race.
