I'm in with my stock Apex, make my shirt a large.
I still need to make reservations, probably trailer up there solo Friday night afterwork and will have to get a permit the next AM.
As of now I have a spot in my trailer if anyone from the Buffalo area is looking for a ride.

mb, right now we have a group of three going up and the 4th guy is on the edge. If you are heading up alone you could link up with us to save on some gas money. I am pushing the guys to leave Thursday after work but the plan as of now is leaving Friday after work. Do you have hotel reservations yet? We do but they are in the Tug Hill area. I am gonna call some of the places listed close to Slickers now to see if they can house us.

And to everyone, SPEED, DAMIEN609, and Myself, will be at slickers Friday night from 7:00pm on have drinks. So if you guys want to come out we can tell you any thing you need and get you guys set up with Old
Forge. Also finalize any questions on the race.
Careful-might be a trap-they're trying to stick you with a fat head (hangover)for poor reaction times on Saturday
Ahh - I'll be there about 7:01

Are there any other places other than: Glenmore Hotel, Wayback Inn, Water Edge and the Big Moose?

Is some festival going on that weekend in OF?
I can't get off of work Friday, so I will be driving up that evening. Right now it's just me unless I can convince Justin from Full Power Performance to take a day off from the shop.
PM me and let me know if you find something closer and when / where you are departing from.

Thanks Millstreet. I just got off the phone with the guys and I guess it looks like we are staying/booked at the Resevoir Inn in Redfield (Tug Hill area). Soooo, it looks like we will ride from Redfield over to Slickers. Has anybody done this? How long will it take? Other question is...if we trailer over to slickers, do we still have to purchase a OF trail pass?

Yes you still have to get the trail pass, which the info center that shares Slickers parking lot is where you can get them. I would trailer over anyway. It would be much quicker and also you can park the truck and trailer right at The Enchanted Forest parking lot across the street from slickers as well.
Also check the first page of this post I have links posted of where to stay and what not.

Clarks beach is right across the street from slickers and right in the middle of town. Great location. not far from fuel or the trail head. See you up there mauri.

Thanks for the info aj. I will be there. Not sure if my buddies will go for it but I will make it over. I will just have to remember a zip lock baggy for banana peels, apples, veggies etc for the flux compasiter I will be installing this week in order to have a chance against the big dogs. I am hoping for a 1000' track cause once this baby hits 88mph...watch out! lol

It is about 100 miles by sled from redfield....maybe a little more. Plan on about 2.5-3 hours. If you get a real early start from Redfield, you might catch fair trails. Also, you will either stay south and go through Boonville or head north and go through Brantingham. Both of those areas need a little snow. I rode Booneville, Brantingham, and Old Forge last weekend. By Sunday, the snow was getting pretty light in those areas especially around Brantingham. Why staying in Redfield? If your going to buy the trail pass, Old Forge has much better riding and nightlife. If you can't find a room in Old forge, stay at the Headwater Inn in Boonville. It is only about 30-40 miles by sled to Old Forge and about 90% of the trail is very nice up to Old Forge.
Because of the back roads and stuff, It is about an hour and 15 minute drive from Redfield to Old Forge.

That KOA is now called Old Forge Campground or something like that. It is owned by the same people that own the Waters Edge. They have some sweet "brand new" cottages and cabins that they rent. I was there this past summer. They do rent them out to sledders on the weekend if they have any available.

This sounds pretty fun. My camp is on Big Moose but I'll come down to slickers on friday night also. I'm running a stage two FPP rear mount with 1000 miles on so far. Its an 07 Attack with 40th Anniversary plastic. Looking forward to seeing everyone elses creations. One word though, we should stay off the ice track on saturday. The chissel sled owners get pissed off when we wreck the track with trail studs. Its dangerous also, we lay the grooves in the ice, they try to make a pass with 300+ horse in 660 and get pulled right out of there lane. They spend a lot of time and money to make the track for the weekend, please respect it. We can run in the hardpack and snow where we are quicker anyway with trail studs.
