So this week they had the Skidoo was in Brimley Michigan with the Rev XP. Yamaha was alos there with the 2008 sleds. I guess the REV burned down on the first customer test ride. The kicker is they towed it back with a Yamaha.
Is this old news?

They arent known for motor reliability thats for sure. I would think you would have to be. I mean how can anyone go spend $8000-10,000 on a sled and wonder is it going to last even 1500 miles. Thats why i didnt buy a ski doo. Almost did but thats what scared me away. If i was more confident in their 600 SDI or 800 PT i would have bought one for sure. The 800R is obviously no prize either.
Now if you take my friends advice his attitude is oh well if it blows up for $1000 i can buy a whole new motor. He is fortunate enough to have the luxury to say and do that but most don't

Wow, going to that Doo Link was an eye opener,
and to read about others doing 2500.00 rebuilds just
for fun must be insane.
I have 2 stroke power tools 20 years old, never a problem.
I'd be willing to bet Doo outsourced critical mass to China to
save a buck and it bit them deep. That's the most insane thing
I've ever read on such a huge promo event for a new product.
Can You image the flamage in that board room.
That's when you walk in and say,,, I told ya.
Been there, done that with Ford arguing with engineers who
basically ruined the Tempo's rear suspension when it first came
out as we are standing under it.
For years I had to stare at them on the freeway as they squatted totally out of phase.
They didn't care, and the silly consumer never noticed the front
and rear wheels didn't track in the same line.'

Some water coolers must still have lead in them.
