It’s been discussed many times on these sleds as to where one of those silicone, stick on oil pan heaters should go. I have one on the bottom of the engine and it has little to no effect when it’s -25*C out. I have a Yamaheater in-line coolant heater, but nowhere useful to install it.

Has anyone thought to install a 4”x5” 250W silicone oil pan heater to the front heat exchanger? It’s a nice, flat surface to mount one. Or would this be another wasted effort?

Here is a pic of the area I had in mind.

Why do you say there's no place useful to install the inline coolant heater? Install it in the hose from the front of the motor to the thermostat hose and it should warm the coolant in the cylinder head & block until 165 degrees when the thermostat would open.

Is this the hose behind the oil separator? I looked at that but didn’t think it would work well with a bend in the hose

I don't have the best picture, but that steel bent elbow, that hose should work if you can fit it into that hose.
