I have a 07 rtx with 5.7 pilots with stock 4 inch carbides.I pulled limiter strap up to tightest hole to see if i could get more ski pressure. I ride with a 07 rev so I'm trying to get the yammi to turn somewhat as good.Over the weekend I rode with limiter one hole from tightest and it turned better but still not as accurate as I'd like.My steering still feels really light so I want to try limiter pulled up one more hole.Basically my question is I might not get to try it like this because of lack of snow for this year and would like to know if any of you guys have tried this or does it make the steering too heavy and cause to much darting. I,m getting this sled really close to perfect for handling for me and was hopeing this was the last move. Thanks

I run pilots, limiter strap as tight is it can be with center shock spring as loose as possible. It handles excellent!

I agree with number1kyster.

I too run my limiters in the tightest hole and my center shock so that the spring is "just" tight enough not to loose the retainers.

I actually adjust the center spring with the limiter straps removed - just in case the limiters break again I don't want to loose the center spring retainers.

The center spring is still fairly loose though and I can slide it around easily with the sled off the ground, even with the limiters on the tightest hole.

You guys must have a hard time hookn' up? Sorry to but in but I use a set of x2 triple threats and I can run my strap one or two up from center hole. I hook like you read about and the ski pressure is perfect. This set up is way more confident than a rev, you would have to do some mods to the rev to get it to handle as good as my attak with these usi skis. NO JOKE! Good luck.

I run them on 2 RX1's with the Monoshock. I've run with the strap full tight and 1 hole away. With it tight, the sled rails and the revs cant keep up with me, but it steers hard. With one hole away, I get ski lift but I can still rail through the twisties with some body english. I guess it depends what you like.

I have the weight transfer coupler bolts turned up about 3/4 of the way towards max transfer.

This really is an ideal setup IMO.

Straight line acceleration with almost any conditions I "just" lift the skis enough that I can swing them back and forth and still "almost" go straight (they are just touching the ground). This is with me sitting down, but keeping my weight back a fair bit. If I stand on the running boards and throw my weight back as I punch it, I can lift the front end way off the ground and do a big wheelie for about 20 feet if I want to.

At the same time, I can roll the power on through a corner and if I want and I'm up against the tank, with enough throttle I can break the back end free and swing the back end out. Never do I lift the skis enough in a corner to loose steering.

Also, in the first 30 feet I haven't yet been beaten in a straight line against anything, including REV-XP 800Rs. Admittedly I've only lined up in total maybe a dozen times, but still this shows acceleration isn't exactly bad.

The other advantage to running a lot of weight transfer at the couplers is it softens up the first 3-4" of suspension travel and provides a more comfortable ride.

This setup is an excellent compromise that really doesn't compromise all that much. Its an excellent all around performer.

I guess the steering is fairly heavy, but I still don't have any trouble with 12+ hour riding days - day after day.

My steering is light with the pilots. Right now I have the transfer rods set up so I have zero transfer. I spin all the time. I may adjust them some.
