2012 LTX Vector with 4400 miles. Bought it 3-4 seasons ago with 2200 miles! I do my own maintenance on all of my sleds and this one is my wife's sled, but anyway, did an oil and filter change pre season and all went well and have put about 700 miles on it since. This message now started to show itself but I doubt it has Low oil pressure whereas it runs and sounds great as usual, and after logging close to 400 miles this past few days, and No warning lights or Icons showing! Checked the oil level once it gets warm and it's right where I left(very near H) it when I did the oil change a few months ago! I thought maybe it has to be reset or something, or could a sensor be bad? OP LO is the message, and if running it it would give a Oil 00078, and currently still giving 00078! We were up country riding when this would appear when starting up, and once you hit the select button it goes away and you can only toggle through the trip A, B or the odometer mileage, and the OP LO message will not reappear until you turn the key to start it again, and it will come on before it starts and stays on!! I also noticed that if I turn the key as if I am going to start it and hit the reset button once this OP LO appears, it will show Oil 02578! Again if I hit the select button, only message that I can scroll through is trip A, B and Odometer! Mobil 1 0-30 with Yamaha filter has been my go to! Am not getting an Oil level/pressure warning Indicator Icon, nor am I getting a warning light as illustrated in my owners manual!

So I feel like a fool, but if this post helps another who got this code for the first time and is wondering WHY? Here's what I found in my owners manual, (How to reset Oil Change Tripmeter once it appears). The 02578 is telling me that my oil needs to be changed after 2500 miles, and we have traveled 78 miles past that 2500 mile warning Of, "Time To Change The Oil"!! So this being my 3rd or 4th oil change on this Vector, but by not resetting the oil reset tripmeter, this machine was letting me know that I need to change it's oil after 2500 miles!! So I guess we have put on 2578 miles since we bought this sled, whereas it had just been serviced prior to our buying it, but I still changed the oil anyway!

Have been doing my own maintenance on my Yamaha's since my first 1984 phaser, and have had way to many sleds to name them all, but have had a few 4 strokes since my first 2003 RXI, my Turbo Apex and my now 2017 tuned Sidewinder, and this (Time to change your oil tripmeter thing) is new to me!!

The Lo OP message when it's first started, it will show that until oil pressure builds up after running a couple of seconds. It should go out. If it doesn't go out or it appears while riding, then you have an actual oil pressure problem.

Weird that I was getting both, OP LO and the 02578 messages, but once I found how to clear the messages by hitting the reset button, they are now gone!

Maybe it's to get your attention more? Anyway it's resolved now. Lo OP might happen in really cold weather when first started.

I get the lo oil starting for a second on all 3 vectors. Like you said it has to build up pressure.

Both codes were firsts for me and my wife's 2012 Vector, which both my daughter and I also used it for day rides this year, and nothing came up until "The Machine" thought it had been 2500 miles(Wife was driving it) since an oil change. And at that point, OP LO, mileage since oil change 2500 = 2578, and the mileage over the 2500 was showing. 00014, next stop 00047, last stop 00078! Now that I reset it, it should stay away. I hope by resetting these codes/messages, it reset all codes at once, and that's what it looks like! Riding is probably done for the season for us, so now that it's reset, when I do it's preseason maintenance next fall, I won't have any codes to reset except the OP LO after changing oil! So I shall make sure to reset that one after next oil change!?

Op lo is on every start up you can’t reset that.

OK, as of right now since I reset, no messages show when I turn the key on! Tried it many times while it was in my garage! After checking over the sleds in my heated garage from our last trip to the County, I have now put them back in my trailer! Next time in there, I shall turn the key switch on again and look for that OP LO message which seemed to clear when reset! I’ll also start it up and go through another key on code search! But last time I did this, all I had were, trip A, B and odometer!

A couple of things to note here. You can and will get the LO OP message to briefly appear at startup during cold start ups which is normal and NOT a bad sign unless it stays on longer than a few seconds. The LO OP has nothing to do with the oil maintenance reminder counter which is every 2500mi. This would be the 4 digit value indicating how many miles were driven since the last scheduled oil change. Even if you just reset the oil maintenance counter and the next day it's cold out and you go to start, you may still get the LO OP briefly at startup and this would be totally normal. It's only when you have reached the next scheduled oil change (another 2500mi) will you encounter the oil maintenance counter. And as you found, can be hidden by pressing the Select button (ie. will no longer be an option when toggling thru the Mode button) but will re-display at the next startup. It's not until you RESET the oil maintenance counter will it stop displaying the 4 digit counter for the oil change interval at startup. But again, you still may see the LO OP within the next 2500mi and that would be ok; as long as it goes out shortly thereafter.

Actually a nice feature once you learn about it!

I just happened to learn about it the hard way, but all is good and that’s a good thing!!

OK, I see what you mean by “On Startup”!

The OP LO doesn’t show itself when key is turned on, unlike the 3 messages I had when it went over the 2500 oil change interval warning! So now no OP LO when I first turn on the key, but when I turn engine over to start it, the OP LO shows during turn over only, and goes away once it starts! Unlike my Sidewinder, this Vector starts with barely turning over, so you must be quick to see that! Thanks to all for pointing that out!
