2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or the reason of the message OP-LO at startup on my 2016 Vector XTX. Message goes out fast when started. I got off trail into a drainage ditch. Rolled onto it's side. I shut it off fast. I know notice it sends the message at startup only. I rode 65 miles after the rollover fine. Ran fast no issues restarting. I'll change the filter and oil in 2 days but want to ride it tomorrow for another 60 miles first.

Someone posted about losing prime on a Apex and gave this advice

"remove smallest hose fromtank
plug rubber hose and blow a little air
into tank untill you hear it bubbling
do this 2 x then install rubber hose
start and look in tank through fill hole
make sure oil is swirling around in tank"

Owning both Apex and Vectors they seem about the same as far as oil tank or at least close. Would that work to check for prime lost?

It's perfectly normal, only happens because you have no oil pressure for a split second after starting it up until the oil pump primes. Normal on 2011+ Apex models, 2012+ FX nytro models, and 2012+ RS Vector models.

As stated it is normal, just like when you start your car the oil light will be on for a very short time.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to clear the code? unhook battery? I never noticed it before. Maybe it always was.

It's not a code, it's simply telling you that the oil pressure is low until the engine runs long enough. It's like an idiot light, there's no stored code to clear. It's likely always done it.

thanks. I changted oil and filter (needed it) and it still does it so gues it always was. Runs like a beast before and after still. Never any codes so far.

Couple of things that may affect this: what oil + weight oil do you use? Yamaha filter (8DM-13440-00-00)? When checking oil is it on a level floor/surface and at you checking it after it is warmed up and NOT SCREWING THE dipstick assy in?

I'm using Mobil 1 10w30. I had 10w 40 in it before and it still did it. I have Yamaha's filter in it. And had a k&N before. Yep level on floor when warm and not screwing in. It's a 2016 and I thought I read that year does it. Who knows. Runs great.
