Just wanted to know what everybody rx1's are running when they install a temp gauge. Im at 210 degrees and was just wondering if that was a little too hot. Ive bled the system and made sure the coolant was at 50/50 and added water wetter.

Mine runs at 165- 170. I look for snow if it climbs past 175, because at that point it shoots to 210-220 quickly, and that is when my coolant vents or pukes out.
Thats strange if yours starts to puke anti freeze out the overflow at 200. I let mine idle till it got up to the 260 mark on my gauge and it never starterd to let any coolant out. Maybe my gauge is wrong. Im using the autometer phantom and have a hard time thinking it could be wrong. Does any body have another way I could check my coolant temp when hot?? Could this really be caused by a bad ground?

Some of the differences in what other guys are reporting may just be where they located their sensors.
I would say that what is more important is that use 210 as your baseline if that's what you get under "normal" conditions. See what temp your guage says when your "warning light" starts flashing. This way you know when you see that gague approach that temp you can look for snow in advance.
And just an FYI, if you think 210 is hot, most of todays cars don't have their radiator fan set to come on until 218-221.

Thanks for the reply turbo mike. You are the one with the crazy lights right. My kids have to watch them every night. Any ways,do you know what the thermostat is set at from the factory? I tried today to get my warning light on and my gauge showed 260 with no light!!

Hehe..That's not my house...It was a joke. I put up a wreath on the front door and call it a holiday.
T-stat. Maybe 195. But not sure...Gotta remember that too cold is not good for combustion/emmisions (which is why new cars run hotter than older cars).

Mine gauge typically reads 165-170 while riding in ok to good conditions, but my sensor is mounted in the line that runs vertical near the oil tank. I also have the optional rear cooler.

Mine runs 160-165 all day and that's with the SC. This is anything from trail riding to pushing snow over the hood. Temp light comes on at 220. THe gauge is mounted in the cooling line on top of the engine by the thermostat.
There will be differences from sled to sled. What is important to know is where the temp light comes on with your setup and watch for approching that temp.

Took my Rage out twice so far this year after adding the rear mountain cooler and water wetter. Runs about 155-160. Before the cooler about 175 most of the time. Not quite the same motor but I was impressed how good the rear cooler worked.

Like I said, mine pukes out at about 210 -220 not 200. As far as the temp light goes that is a bit after 220 and by then I'm losing anti-freeze, so I like being temp light pro-active. Either way, that's what is nice about having a temp guage EH !!!

260 and no light??? Your gauge is screwed up. The computer shuts down the engine at 220 :ORC
