Opinions on Ice Ripper track.

Track

Well I have one of does to and if you like to run the 1500ft at the lake this is not for you it just does not hook up.But if you do more trail it is exellent and fact. You cant have both...

I put a 121 Xt on my Viper this year........long story why ,but I came from having a Cobra on it for a year. I think it really depends what conditions you ride in. I like the XT for the hard pack trails around where I live. I preferred the Cobra riding in the UP of Mich. better for the plain reason they get more loose lake effect snow. The XT is basically a version of the Ripsaw as for lug design ...which hasn't been known to be a great loose snow track. I still seemed to slide around alot on icy corners too while I rode last week in Michigan so I am kind of out to lunch on it. Now maybe it might work better on the long track 4 strokes with the weight and everything. Just my 2 cents.........

I have the Ice Attack on a SKIDOO GSX 600 etec , and like it .My wife drives it , and I feel safe if she hits ice , there will be adequate traction , and also with the taller 1.325 lugs if she gets in slush or deep powder , she will have more traction than all the other sleds with 1.25 ripsaws .
I was suprised that on glare ice it left scratch lines , similar to a regular studded track , and took off suprisingly well .
I think I would put either the Ice Attack or the Ripper on my next Apex . It will be all I need , as I don't drag race on the lakes .

The previous owner put an Ice Ripper on my sled (06 Apex RTX) and I would say 80% of the little carbide studs are broken off. Sled only had 2000 miles on it when I got it so it could not have been on to long. The good news is it is still a 1 1/4" ripsaw and the lugs look great. So I question as to whether they hold up very well this one didn't. I personnally don't like studs more aggrevation then they are worth for trail riding. I am not a lake rider or I am sure they would be a must have item.

I would assume it is the original Ice Ripper , with the old style studs ?

I didn't know there were different ones. What is the difference? Mine looks like an 1/4" aluminum housing with a small carbide pick coming out molded into the track lug. Most of them are flush and looks like a piece of aluminum with a dot in the center now.

I DON'T KNOW ALL THE DIFFERENCES , BUT THE OLD ONES WERE SHORTER , FLATTER . I BELIEVE .
GO ON THE CAMOPLAST SITE , AND THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN .

My mistake . The Ice Attack is a 1.375 lug , not 1.325 , as previously mentioned

I don't think so... The Ice Ripper XT is 1.25" lug and the Ice Attack is 1" lug. I just looked into ordering these about a month and a half ago.
EDIT - looks like there is two variations available now... they do have an 1.375" lug MY BAD. The 1.375 version has a different pitch though so the drivers would have to change.

i know this is a dumb question but can you stud these tracks? i kept reading these tracks don't have the capabilities of studs but why not stud it if possible?
