Overheating

I could not figure out why the temp light would be on when it's -30 and flying down the trail at 80.

This is what I never understood...especially when the Nytros have a radiator.
It seems to me that the radiators are ineffective on these sleds.

Imo, Yamaha should eliminate the radiator for a simpler design, ie. large tunnel coolers. Less electronics, better reliability.

I was looking at pioneer performance sit and they have a rear heat exchanger for the nytro

What temp is the fan supposed to kick on at ?

212 F it seems for most.

Are the guys with all these overheating problems doing a lot of trail riding at speed limits ? trying to understand why i've never had a problem

I had always found that my Nytro and previously, my Vector, would overheat early in the day and at night when trails had set up firm. This especially would be true in the spring when the trails would melt during the day and freeze at night.

It didn't really matter what speed I travelled, I'd overheat, while others had no problems.

I found riding without the hood on helped, but it was quite embarassing riding a brand new sled with the hood wrapped under my arm.

Needless to say, adding the MTX heat exchanger helped immensely and I haven't overheated since.
