Mine has done the same.Disappointed, but not surprised as I have owned Arctic Cat sleds in the past.Hopefully Yamaha comes up with a solution soon

Just today stopped on the trail and shut down, went to start and got 1338 and 1339 with no start. Got it started and then it was flashing 1338 while riding. Shut down and restarted and no more code. Thank god for the 5 year warranty! Lol

Ironically my Dad has the Cat 7000 version with 400 miles on it and it has started perfectly every time warm or cold. I thought all the fuel mapping was the same and done by Cat so he is probably just lucky to have a good one.
I saw a 7000 with the code so it's not just Yamaha issue. Mine has never done it so far.
Battery isn't charged enough. Dealers don't charge them properly because it takes 24 hrs to do it correctly.

Just checked the battery, Guage is reading 12.7 off and 14.5 running. I can't see how that would've the problem if a full charge is 12.7-12.8 volts.

Had this happen to me 2 times in the 225 miles that I have so far this season. Both times was when I was trying to start when the sled was warm. Not that much of an issue since both times I let it sit for 30-40 seconds and then turned the key and it was fine.

Saw the same code once today. The sled seems to be finicky when it comes to starting sometimes. Like if you wait to long to crank it after you turn the key it takes a couple times to fire off. Not a really big deal, it's just nice having super hot hand warmers for a change!

Same code on my viper. I have 1,000 miles on mine and it started at about 500. Makes you wonder if the next time you shut it off is the time you start walking. Is there a fix?

Ask the shop if there was a if for it today. Nothing as of yet also told them about my hot start problem. I guess we are all hoping for an ecu flash pretty soon.

Talked to dealer about hot start issue, they were going to talk to Yamaha about it today. The P 1338 code they were warned about in their tech training might show up in some sleds at times, not concerned at this time about it.Mine did it once when trying to start when hot, did not stay on.Also talked about low idle speed at times, both times it happened was after a hard hot start, idle dropped to 700 rpms.

Just got back from a UP riding trip. Playing in fields in deep snow. Climbing hills etc. Had a P1338 set on me after a 20 minutes of being shut off.
Sled wouldn't start. Turn the key on, let the fuel pump cycle, crank & and crank no start. Pulled the key, let the dash go off. Turned key on, let fuel pump cycle, crank & crank, cracked the throttle some, no start. Pulled the key again, let the dash go
out. Turned the key on, let the fuel pump cycles, crank and sled started. But I had a P1338 flashing.
We took off to head back to the cabin. On the way back, one of the Polaris's died on the trail. Tank vent iced up. We worked on that for about 10 min. Get ready to fire up the Viper. Turn the key on, let the fuel pump cycle. Sled fired up fine. P1338 was off. Sled ran fine.
Yesterday getting ready to load up. Sled started fine in the morning, 7 deg out. Warm up the Viper, drove it around to load in trailer. Move the trailer to load. Viper was off for about 5 min. Get ready to load the sled. Turn the key on, let the fuel pump cycle. Crank & crank, no start. Pulled the key, let the dash go out. Turn the key, let the fuel pump cycled. Sled started fine.
There seems to be something wrong in the calibration that has the Viper not want to star easy when shut off for short periods of time.
The sled starts fine in the morning and after sitting for long periods of time.

Yamaha. I hope you are paying attention. I think your engine hot soak start calibration needs to be tweaked.

My dealer said they talked to Yamaha and they said its a low battery voltage issue... And that it should sit on a battery tender and to make sure it has been fully charged and retest! Kinda hard to believe but then again if it has a weak signal to the crank sensor and can't see crank position then a long crank would be the reason for the no start.. Like any car if it was to lose cam sensor or crank sensor position long cranks or a no starts happen. I'm going to let mine charge on the tender.. With mine that still makes no sense as it also has hard start hot issues!

This is %100 the hard starting issue. The only reason it shows a low battery is because it won't start and we have to crank and crank them. It has absolutely nothing to do do with a week battery.
