gas
try this remove the white sleve inside the gas tank neck and reroute the fuel tank vent line up into the handl bar pad. that gives you a few liters more in the fuel tank by being able to fill it to the top with no air gap 8)

RX FUN, add some length to your fuel vent hose and run it to the back of the sled thru the running board rolled edge. Drill a hole in the small air vent cap of the Wedco can. Use a length of copper tubing to form a feed tube and a spigot . I just secure the tube in the cap with Permatex silicon.Take the center out of the large cap. You have to make a spigot to make an air vent. I have used and bolt and nut. Drill the cap for the bolt. Place the head of the bolt so it will be on the inside. Install the nut and make sure there is exposed thread to attach the vent line. Just drill thru the length of the bolt. I always run this vent line thru the rear bumper and opposite running board roll to the front of the sled. I don't see any reason that you could not attach it to the can you carry on the other side. The beauty of this setup is that the auxilliary cans empty first.

Low Flying Missile, my intension when I designed this was not to build it as a feeder tank system (remote tanks). Us mountain riders only pack extra fuel in a little ways because we almost always ride out the way we rode in. I could see your idea working for the flatlanders.

RX Fun, just checking to see how your extra fuel set-up has been working or if you have improved it in any way? The place you have mounted those seem like the best place for extra fuel.

RX Fun, have you tried to eliminate the strap across the seat. I think you could if you had a plate to put under the running board between the board and the pins instead of the washers, this should distribute the pulling forces over the board so the pins don't pull through or twist the running boards.
This is the best idea I've seen yet. I put a rack on my machine but I want to use this for emergency gear, lunch, etc.... I'm going to start to make a couple of racks like you've got there tonight.....

Flatlander, I didn't want to use the strap across the seat but it is the only way to keep everything rigid. The nice thing about this system is that once you remove it theres no evidence that it was ever there. RX FUN

Kenclimb, The aux fuel can setup has been working good, just need to tidy up that crossover strap. It really is the only logical place to pack gas on an RX1. Since you also ride the Mountains of BC you know that packing 10 extra litres of gas is often not enough. Alot of people don't realize that this system was designed to be "quick disconnect" because we drop our extra fuel early in the ride, and not carry it everywhere we go. By the way how did your turbo install go? Are you going to be at Yamafest? RX FUN

Its a big job and you have to know what your doing ,with adding the thicker head gaskets and all (thats why I had my freind do it).
I only rode with it on for two rides now,but I can't even find the words to describe the power. The first day I rode in about 3' of powder ,it was so deep people were getting stuck all over on the flat meadows and this thing just pulls the front end up and goes straight up just about anything!
Its unbelevable!

A quick update on my fuel cans. Moved them one runningboard hole further back (about 4"). Gives your feet some more room when you're standing up. Now that I'm turbocharged the extra 20 litres is nice. RX FUN
