Here's my ? I removed the sticker near the gas cap and it left behind a little glue. I should have known better but I used a little Prep-All to remove it and it dulled the finish. I tried to buff it back with a little wax, didn't work. Is the black finish paint or just buffed plastic. Can I get the gloss back ?

It may take a little rubbing compound to remove the surface of the plastic that was damaged by the chemicals.

even a soft cotton rag leaves faint swirl marks...
this plastic is beyond soft...any kind of compound seems too strong for it in my opinion...

It's 30 bucks for a new one... Just go buy it... I did the same thing to mine.... Once they are scratched, there is no fixing it...

You have to heat from the inside and outside to remove the sticker and glue. If you don't and you have to start rubbing, then your done. It will be scratched...
I agree with Daranello... Bring back the paint..

Thanks for all the responces. I like the "30 bucks gets you a new one" That definately sounds like the way to go. The new one will have another sticker on it and I'll test anything I use to remove the glue on the old one before I use it on the new one.
