I was thinking about porting my head but wanna make sure that someone has a map for this. I know a few people on here have done it. Where did you get your mapping from? The place that will do the head work doesn't have any maps. Thanks!
Nobody? Alan?
I thought you were riding a demo John? Porting should be good for about 10% of the work put into it.
I've heard good results with porting from a few people. Just thought I'd try it. $400 isn't too bad I didn't think. And yes we have two demos to ride.
Plus tear down, parts and putting back together. Then the programmer. How much do you think you can achieve? For the 800.00 bucks it will cost you you could just hide NOS and get much more power.
Kinda why I wanted to make sure someone has a map before I do it so I don't have to have someone make one for me. I already have the programmer. Its just a thought I've been throwing around to get a little more outta it.

Why not use a PCV with Autotune or go to dyno and make a map. There is no way anyone could be expected to make a decent map to match porting done by someone else.Exhaust and intake mods will come into play huge also.A total custom map is needed or not worth porting.
Yea but there is a few guys on here that have already done it. And I know they have something. That's y I'm asking. As far as the pv5 with autotune I don't think that'll work very good if I decide to do some drags with it.

Sure it will.Once map is made to satisfaction save it and remove or turn off the autotune.Your porting guy is going to have a different port job than the other guys so you will need a map to match his porting and mods.No way around it.
Ok now its starting to sound like its not worth it. Guess I'll just hide a nos setup and cheat. U were right todd. Lol
Its only cheating if you get caught. Do you think porting will be considered stock and not cheating?
No if I ran I'd be improved anyway with the k&ns and header.
