Would it matter? PCIII or PCV for 2009 - 2010 nytro's?
When I go to the powercommander web site they are pushing the PC5 for 2009 and 2010.
Cheers

I dont think it would matter...must be like a programmer for a truck/car..maybe easier to thumb through and adjust the map..i'm sure it does the same thing and they are probably pushing it because its new...like any manufacture does.

When I was looking to buy one I talked to Allen at ulmers racing. After talking to him I bought a PC3. I'd say call Allen and he could explain the difference really well and help you set it up.

From what I remember they do the same thing. Except that the PC5 is smaller and thinner. I was going to buy the PC5 but being what I use mine for I saved the money and bought a PC3. The PC3 fits fine under the dash or where ever you want to mount it.

Hope this helps alittle.

The difference is the PCV has an extra throttle position and I believe the accelerator pump actually works on the PCV unlike the PCIII, which means it would help under hard accleration and might clean up the pop that people here with exhausts. Allen was supposed to do some testing with it, but with his Dad getting into that accident, I don't believe he is doing much right now....

Thanks for this info.
Sounds like the PC5 may be a slight better option.
The only issue... How many Nytro maps are out there to support the PC5?
Will some of the PC3 maps work until PC5 maps are more available.
I'm in the process of getting some pricing fingerd out.
On the fence.
Cheers

That's the problem, not much out there.... BUT...... I would think that when Hindle went to Dynotech, I would have bet that Jim would have used a PCV to control the AFR on the Dyno... So, I would talk to shaddow44 and ask him to talk to Lee to find out the scoop on how the dyno went and what they used to control the AFR.

Jim did not have access to a PC and shaddow44 had a RB3 therefore we do not have any maps which really sucks. I am getting a PC from Dynojet therefore I might have to go to someone local to create maps.

I talked to power commander and the PC5 has the option to put the auto tuner on it which automaticaly makes your map for you. You can change it while your riding. The only downfall is you have to tig in a port for the O2 sensor for the auto tuner. I want to get one but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe we need a auto tuner that everyone can share to program there sleds! :nos

I was also considering the RB3 with Dave, but I have better pricing options with DynoJets PC.
Plus I feel more guys are using the PC and thus more results and future maps.

I've heard about the O2 ports on the Doo 1200 4tec.

What size bung needs to be welded into the system? We do 18mm for widebands.

Lee Hindle

I believe if you call or go on the the Powercommander website it will tell you...

Yes we have been putting a bung on the Skidoo 1200 pipe. I will send a e-mail to my contact at Dynojet to request a PC and find out about the bung size needed.

18mm x 1.5 pitch

The extra throttle position of the PCV doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference. I will have either one on the shelf soon as I just put an order in for more PCV's. Pricing from Ulmer Racing is the same from either one.
