Hi alla yama lovers,
Have a question for u, that I can't find any answers to.
Is there any Big-Bore kits for my Phazer..?
I'm running MCX turbo on it now, but want some more power out of it..

theres not one that ive heard of and dout there is. there is very little room between the cylinders to bore it out any more then it already is. u could always send it to a repitable motor shop and see what they can do for u. some place like The Crank Shop in vermont they do nice work on 2 strokes porting and they do alot of our boring on 4 strokes when we need it done. its usaly tractors and such but im sure they do perfomace motors too.
talk with MCX they did great work on granbergs engine (VECTOR)

ud need to bore almost 7 mm on each cylinder to get a 590. there is only a little over 10mm between the cylinders. that would only leave a 3 mm gap between the cylinders and that is far from practical.
the fact is there isnt enough space between the cylinders to bore them anything significant. they are borderline too close to begin with. the cylinder sleeves where they are next to eachother meld into each other to the same thickness as the rest of the cylinder sleeve.

I emailed Fundy Performance Sports Ltd originally Fundy Power Sports of NS (www.fundyperformance.com)a while back actually it was the middle of winter in 07 after hearing about a couple of engine kits they where working on for the Phazer and it should be ready by now if it all worked out for them, it sounded real cool and was surpose to be a engine kit that will put out 110/120hp try look at the site and contact them to see if they have it finnished and post your findings here for all to see. I would imagine if someone was to make a big bore kit with anything over 100 hp for the Phazer it would be a big seller. Here is a link to HCS where another guy was told the same as me. http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/i ... try2688166
Hope this helps with your B/B Question and with any luck they have it finnished and ready to go by the next sleding season.

sorry to bring this back to the top, its been awhile since iv been on here. but it would cost ALOT of money to do a bigbore correctly. most people dont understand the fact you cant just slap a big bore on a fourstroke. well you can but all ur going to get is a ton of a low end and no top. if you do a big bore your going to need to port the head a TON and also add larger valves to make up for the larger bore. I know how to get 8-10hp out of the phazer in just headwork. My 06 250f makes 43hp on a dyno on pump gas stoke stroke stock bore. I could copy that x2 and do it to my phazer and see what happens. Even at that it would i dont think it would be worth the money for 10hp.. I am SURE i would have to redo to the fuel map to richen up the fuel for the more air.

Big bore no, but what about a stroked motor using stock pistons with longer con rods?
If displacement is what you're after, go in the opposite direction.
I guess the biggest disadvantage would be the cost of the cylinders...
