Hello everyone, just wondering what RPM your guy's phazers are running at a idle? mine is at 1640, i find you have to give the throttle a little squeeze to get it to start, wondering if others are having to do this, maybe i should turn the idle up? thanks :yam:

1750-1850 is the target.
Thanks, i thought it was kinda low, may help with the starting when the engine is warmed up.

Mines really touchy, I have mine bumped up to a 2000rpm "trail ride" idle just so it will idle when it gets heat soaked powder riding. Working it hard in powder where the fan is kicking in when I'm stopped it barely idles at 1100rpm till it cools off a bit. My clutch doesn't engage until 4500rpm so I have a lot of room for a bit higher idle on mine.

Do you have to press on the throttle to get it to start when the machine is warmed up?

Yes, if I have the idle set any lower than 2000rpm warm then it usually take a quick blip of the throttle while cranking for it to catch. With it set at 2000rpm it will catch by itself.

Mine idles really high when cold start (2700+), but after warm up usually settles out around 1700. When the sled is warm I sometimes also have to tap the throttle to start it like some of the others.

I think i will turn mine up from 1640 to 2000 at idle to help it start better when the engine is warm, i don't think this will affect anything or hurt the engine. thanks :4STroke:

If your Phazer is a 2007 check the ECU to see if last didgits are 01. 2007 Phazer had an updated ECU for cold start but it also helped my Phazer with idle. Do a search if you are curious plenty of info on it

Mine is a 2010 rtx, it has know problem starting when its cold out, its just when the machine is warm, you have to press on the throttle to get it to go everytime, i turned the idle up from 1640 to 1950- 2000 rpm it seemed to help with the starting when the engine is warmed up. thanks :sled1:

I think shifting into reverse is sometimes more difficult with the idle set too high - so I've heard.
I thought of that to but as i increased the idle rpm i kept on putting it in reverse at different rpms to see if the increase would make it more difficult to go in reverse, it didn't seem to affect it for now. it starts better when warm now to. thanks :yam:
