Hello I am replacing the relays on my 09 phazer mtx with new solid state. I can find the fuel pump relay by cycling the key but I am unsure which is the load control relay. I checked the wiring diagrams and it doesn't seem like my wire colors are what it shows? How can I tell which one it is?
Thanks

Is it causing you problems? I only use the red solid state relay for the fuel pump. The others have not caused me any issues, even in the cold. The load control relay may be too high a load for the solid state although some have used it there without issues. It only comes on when the engine is running.

I don't have access to the manuals at the moment so I can't check the wiring diagrams.

I don't know that it has been for sure but it sounded like alot of people have changed them out with no issues. My thought was that I would to at least prevent a future issue while I had it apart though.

These are the other 3 relays on the same rail as the fuel pump relay was on.

If I were to guess, it would be the one with the thicker wires. On your sled, there two that are different, one for the headlights and one for the electric reverse gear. Those have 5 pins whereas the others have 4. One was to find it would be to pull a relay, start it and if stuff doesn't turn on, that's it.

However, my thinking is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Only the fuel pump relay was affected by cold because when you're just starting it on the battery, it only gets 12V but once the engine is running, the load control and others get 14V+. I'm all for preventing possible future issues but I was not convinced the load control needed to be replaced and never had any issues with any of my sleds.

Ok thank you very much! I will try pulling a couple more and see what happens when its running.
