I just dink around the house for the most part, current sled has the factory 2" track that has some missing lugs. I was thinking of getting a 1.25" take off from an XTX. I understand I will have to cut it down for width. I have rode short track sleds for years with 1" or less tread depth. How will this track work on the phazer?

I would think it would work fine. I stretched my shorty to 144" with a 6 degree tip up like the MTX and put on a Firecat EXT 13.5 x 1.25 x 144 predator track. I love it and the sled hooks up great in all conditions. I will say the predator has more paddles than fingers like the Ripsaw has.

Any issues with the 13.5 inch track?

Not so far. I put on over 1,800 last season and all is good. The wheels are flush with the edge of the track so it is easy to see if you have an alignment issue. My hyfax wear was great too. I talked at length with Alan Ulmer about this track and set up. He built an 09' RTX with the same track so he had first hand experience dialing in his clutch kits. My sled mimics the sled he built. The 144 x 13.5 tracks are getting a little hard to find but they are a few around. I went with this track over a 1.5" Freeride basically because I found a new take off at a dealer for $200 less than a Freeride. Otherwise, I would have gone with the 1.5" Freeride.

I cut down a 144 x 15' track last season from a Nytro Mtx and it worked really well with the sled. Whereas the 2 inch track was really tippy and not very compliant on a hard-pack trail, the 1.25 was the perfect set-up for great a great on-trail ride as well as being able to generate good track speed off-trail and playing in the deep with the rest of the guys. This was a pretty easy swap, but in a perfect world, the 1.5 is the prime set-up... Get out your wallet though; they don't give them away for a reason.

Yes, I think 1.5" is ideal on the Phazer. I went with a new take off Firecat track as it was half price of a Freeride 1.5". My son has a 1.5 x 14 x 144 Crossover and loves it. It's a cut down take off from a Doo and it's a good all around track for both on and off trail. I have the same uncut track on my MP and I love it.

I ended up putting a 1.75 inch track from a skidoo on it. Haven't tried it yet.

I have the exact same track sitting in my shop lol. Just waiting for a cheap set of rail extensions before I go any further. I am trying to set a record for how cheap I can do this haha. Only got 90$ into the track! Just need rail extensions, hyfax and I am gearing down to 17t also.

I just got a 144x1.25x15 Ripsaw for cheap. So now the fun begins, hopefully it won't take to long to get the rest of the parts.
