After 200 miles of pretty moguled trails my son's phazer Mtx is sitting low in the rear and won't rebound to ride height. Is this the shock being wore out or a torsion spring issue?

odds are the shocks need a refresh if they are rebuildable. usually needs to be done every 2000-3000 mi on average. cannondale does a good job and has done a few for me.

Steel bodied non rebuildable. Any recommendations on upgrades for the rear?

I replaced the rear shock on my Phazer MTX a week ago. I picked up a kimpex nytrogen charged non-rebuildable. Picked up a rear shock for a Skidoo Mx Z 2004-05 p#004-513N7. I rode it last weekend it seems to work good. Bolted right in.

might get lucky and find a set of rears off of an rtx or gt that can be rebuilt.
