So I sit here for the last couple of days debating on what one I should get. I am the ripe old ago of 24yr and do like my ditch bangin. But, if I get the basic Phazer will I be satisfed with the results? Does the front and rear shocks make that big of a difference from the basic to the FX?

I would like to get the basic but if the shocks are going to give me plan results I might make a different pick.

get at me....

I´d say that go for the FX. A friend of mine did test rides last spring with the Phazer and to him even the FX was too soft.. It just might be his riding style or our mogultrails here in Finland, but still. Better shocks are always worth the money.

FX for sure...... rode FX and GT at demos last year, if u like the rough stuff, definately the FX

The standard Phazer is more of a pricepoint model. It costs less, but doesnt have reverse, handguards, windshield and the clicker shocks that the FX has.
If you like to ditchbang, Id go with the FX because it has the remote res shocks. They should resist fading better than the shocks the standard Phazer has.
Also, I dont think the shocks on the standard model are rebuildable, the GYT-Rs that FX gets are.
All in all, I think the FX is worth every penny that it costs over the standard.

Better sled, better ride, better resale, you can't lose upgrading Yamadoo

I am going to be the guy to swim upstream on this one.

Now of course it all depends on what features you are looking for. That said.....if it was me I would buy the standard Phazer and save the +- $1000 up front. Then I would buy a set of Fox Floats for up front and upgrade the rear shocks if I felt I needed to. Plus then the sled is a little bit lighter without the reverse. In the end I would end up spending roughly the same amount, maybe a little more depending how crazy I got, but I would have a Phazer that would ride as good if not better than a FX and for about the same price.

Plus then you have a sled that is just a little different than all the other guys with their FX's.

Oh, and remember that you can always find good deals on here for these parts from fellow TY'ers!!! :rocks:

Now that I have said all of that, I suppose I opened myself up for critacisam from everone.............well let'er buck! ;)!

my 2 cents.

I'm swimming upstream with you but for a different reason. I remember when I was 24 and scraping together the extra loot is difficult. So maybe you get the Phazer, enjoy it and when you get the extra loot then upgrade it.

ok, on this swimming thing.... at 24 probably taking a loan out for the sled... so what is an extra 15 bucks a month vs 1000 in upgrades cash out of pocket.... i am still feeling an FX here....

I guess I was just thinking the same thing PAMikeC said only in a few more words. If I could save the 1000 or so up front and have a new sled I would. Then as I had money or decided I wanted to I could upgrade. In the end would have the same sled as a FX maybe a little better.

I also won't take out a loan for toys like this, I only get new toys like this if I can afford to buy outrite. So yes if you only look at it from a loan/payment standpoint then the extra 1000 isn't to big of a deal.

I am cheap though and try to save as much as I can up front. If I can save some money up front and invest it or use it wiser I will.........

..... but like I said just my two cents!!

fx

If you you would have had a chance to drive both on the same day you would see the exta money is well worth it for the fx.I undertand where your coming from though.

I have thought about just doing this. Throw a set of Fox's on the front and maybe something for the rear and then turboing it.

guys,

I think Im going to go with the plan Phazer. Not for the reason cause of cash......I hav enough..lol...but I like the red/black version. I do not like the khahi(sp) color or blue...I bought a 2005 suzuki GXSR 600 red/black so Im trying to keep to the color scheme.

thanks
