Litre1000 said:Well, like Swiss Sledder told me, you need to back off dude! I was referring to the machine I rode back in March. But since comprehension is a skill and not something you're born with, you obviously don't realize we could be comparing apples to oranges (preproduction sleds vs production sleds). So, since your Phazer is void of any "objectionable" vibration, maybe the 900cc version will be just as refined, or is that another concept which you find hard to grasp?
I already stated that I knew your opinion was of preproduction sleds and may be true for those machines only. I merely pointed out my observations of my sled annnd the irony in your saying that you would prefer to wait for a 900 Twin to solve vibration issues. Thats all.
As for your wit filled tact:

why don't you keep it to yourself?
I personally dont believe Yamaha will build a 900 Twin based off a 450F more likely a Genesis 80 with an xtra cylinder. Why waste all the R&D put into the G80? But I may be wrong, time will tell. But one things for certain: Stating the Phazer has vibration issues and that you will wait for a 900 twin to solve them, is both the irony and the concept which you "find hard to grasp". Afterall, if you are aware that comparing DEMO sleds to Production sleds is like comparing apples to oranges:
Litre1000 said:you obviously don't realize we could be comparing apples to oranges (preproduction sleds vs production sleds).
then you are aware that stating the Phazer has body roll, vibration issues, poor sound and handling deficiencies to answer Yami07's question is indeed answering a question about an apple (Production sled), with an orange (Demo sled).

We all know Yamaha does there homework, it sounds like the production models have been well perfected. If your looking for a fun machine I think this will be it. I can't wait for the dealer to demo one, I hope to travel to all dealers in my area and demo them all, and throw down the hard money

Well, I won't repeat my mistake of reiterating the fact that my only experience aboard this model happened a long time ago on a machine that obviously didn't represent the production model in an accurate manner - oops, I just did! As far as NOT flexing my wit-filled diabtribes goes - I can't do that. Because, I feel, if you were told to do so, you would respond similarly. What I will try to do is, when tempted, is respond to all threads in a positive manner, portraying nothing but happiness and gratitude, that I, like yourself, am participating in this sport aboard a product built by Yamaha. A company that can do no harm to those that drink the Cool-Aid on a daily basis. Consider it an internet version of "Pleasantville". What a fantastic movie that was! If you haven't seen it, you should.

See now, thats a wit-filled diatribe I can live with.

Yup, I can feel the love! If you all knew how big a fan of trick machinery I was, ya wouldn't be so put-off when I make a critical observation. The Phazer is one of the trickest sleds ever offered to the public (next to the Blade and the ill-fated Redline-which I had made a down payment on! So, enjoy your Phazers! If I could get rid of my Vector, I'd be one step closer to owning one myself-since you all have made it clear that my initial concerns have been addressed prior to production time - obviously.

HA , HA , ENTERTAINING AT THE LEAST !!!!
Litre 1000 & BV1........Excellent banter. Aside from being entertaining (you both are very witty,) your post are very educational. Honestly, I think you both are right. Thankfully, Yamaha did their homework and worked out the bugs before they put the sled into production.
From my experiences, internet forums can, at times, get hostel. (I, too, am guilty of "less than polite" internet conversations.) Nevertheless, it's refreshing when the hostilities cool down and we all learn from each others experiences.
Again, Litre 1000 & BV1, for sharing your experiences and thoughts.

LMAO...I really enjoyed that banter, even without the emoticons...It is like listening to my older brothers, both of whom are partially correct, but neither will back down...Ha, it is all in the family though...Thanks and if I can make it work, I will be getting a GT.

Look forward to seeing those videos (b)
Thanks for some honest replies to my questions. As for as "newbies playing games" - hardly.
I may be a "newbie" as far as number of posts are concerned, but I've been riding Yamahas' since 1971 when my parents bought an SL338B. And I've been a sideline observer on here as well as snowest & hardcore sledder forums for many years. I currently have a Yamy 600 twin & sxr 600 triple.
When the 07 models were introduced, I was (as were many other posters on here) disapointed to see it was only 80hp. I thought I'd be waiting yet ANOTHER YEAR for a 100-120hp version. However, after demoing one at Haydays & because of the the many good reviews I've read on different forums -- I decided to buy an FX. I'm hoping it will be the excellent all around FUN machine my 84 Phazer was - I hope so. I still have the same concerns I posted at the start of this thread.
BV1-- I value the opinion of someone that actually has one - that's what I was looking for. However, to write" Personally, I find the seat issue like... well put it like this... imagine if at the starting gate of a MotoX race, all the bikes are lined up and one racer says to the other, "Man my seat is really chaffing me!" "is just plain stupid. I'm not a racing snocross -- I often ride 150-200miles or more in an afternoon. Do you see many MotoX racer's riding across the USA on their bikes? I'll ditch bang for a time, but other times I like to pile up the miles. I hope this machine will do it all.

No problem, on the replies, sorry if you dont agree with my seat assesment.
The fact remains that the seat is definetly narrower then my Edge Chassis Polaris, and very similar to any of the major brand MotoX'rs, maybe an inch wider if that.
Although I bought the GT version because I too can travel up to 150-200 miles in a day (1500 miles last year), I still say the seat feels more like a bike then a tourer. I bought the machine for the fun factor, and you can have fun on it and still go touring.... but IMO it is not as comfortable as say the Vector, Apex, or Atak... and I dont think it has to be, if Yamaha says this is suppose to be a 250F on the snow. The Phazer is unlike any other machine out there.
Compare for yourself the seat on the YZ250F and the Phazer:

http://www.members.shaw.ca/diatech/Phazer/100_1280.jpg
If enough people complain, I think they will come out with a gel seat or something similar, IMO, that one in the above pic looks like it would almost fit
As for me, I like the narrow feeling the current seat gives, and you sit high enough that its really easy to stand if you should see something coming.
