Did the same thing on my fx last year and did not experience any problems with meltdown or loss in performance. Warmest temprature I drove in was 8degC/46degF and I had long lake runs with throttle fully open a long time and had no problem of any kind. But slow driving in this conditions made engine overheat so I added the radiator fan and this engine overheat problem was history.

let me know when you get to ride if it makes a big difference, last year on my phaser fx it was overheating, because it was all anti-freeze in there, i went with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and distilled water and added a 1/2 a bottle of water wetter and never had a problem again
