well as i had a free day it was time to go for a ride. -30c for a high for today. tried to get a wingman but no joy as all buddies/brothers where busy or sick. decided to go to windy lake motel. informed my brother and my dad where i was going and planned route. used a booster pack to save sled battery on cold start up. as it was a cold day only have a few pics as batt was low from the cold.

start of day

rode out to windy lake. trails where good with 2' of powder on the lakes. only problem, other than the cold, was i could not find my sled gauntlets so i had to wear my honking big mitts. only met 4 sleds on this leg.

stopped at the hotel and had cheese sticks, buger and fries for a late lunch. was the only one there for a good 30 min other than the staff and was only sledder.

geared back up and headed back. took a few short cuts to save some time. all was going well untill i hit the end of a lake. lined up and tried to climb the bank out. did not have enough speed/traction as as soon as the skis left the ground, sled slid to the right and rolled over. as it started to go over, i pushed off and almost cleared the sled. ended up on my hands and knees and the bumper hit me on the butt as it rolled down. the vid starts after i rolled it onto the track and calmed down.

started buy getting the kill sitch up as it broke off when it rolled. just so happens that the screw that hold in the throttle cable is the right size to screw into the kill switch and pull it up. got sled started and started planning how to get it out. ended up driving off the rock into a creek where it sunk. was just about to cut a pole for leverage when a gentleman and his wife happened by on a pair of cats. sorry i do not remeber his name but he is an artichat member. helped me pull, lift, push and swear the sled out. thanked him and his wife for stopping.

picks of the hole after we got it out and the sled .

cost me a belt as i smoked it bad but made it out.

on the rest of the return trip i met 4 sleds including the cat couple. sled ran fine and i made it home before dark. did a few chores before i took the damage pics.

other than a sore butt and foot, not in too bad shape. sled damage was minimal.

still was a good day sledding. ;)!

Cross my fingers and hope that nevers happens to me(came close my second winter on the beast).Check e-bay,you may get some great deals on those headlight panels.

now when i go out alone i will make shure i bring the snow winch.

could have been much worse that it was as i was picturing having to walk to fairbanks lake and getting some help on the phone.
