Pics Of Battery Relocation, Bracket Removal, General CleanUp

Hi TreeWhacker! When you put back the stock airbox did you have tu cut/remove the rubber air intake on the bottom of the air box :?: With the new location of the CDI, it seems to be in the way/blocking the rubber air intake :?: :!: :?: By the way, nice bracket :!:

I HAVE a couple of questions!!!

1 how did you extend the ground strap?

2 i didnt have to remove the hood to get the battery in ,just open it!!

3 did you install the rubber mat under the battery?

4 did you install a bolt in the bottom of the CDI unit??? i dont see one in the pic.

You have been a great help thanks

I read you removed the ground strap from the starter!!

Was this a good idea?? i thought the engine was rubber mounted??

For those who want to run the stock air box, mount your CDI and fuse box this way. Yes welterracer, the rubber intake would hit the CDI that way, but I was running K&N's, and now a turbo. I decided to change the location of the CDI and fuse box in case I want to put the stock air box back on. The air box fits easily now.
Welterracer, the engine is grounded to chassis. Just remove the long ground goin back to starter mount bolt, take it down close to the battery and ground it on a bolt.
Yes, put original rubber mat under battery. Here's a pic of what you want if you will use stock air box.

Tanx TreeWhacker! Now that everything is clear I will start the work this weekend! I also want to make sure I'm able to go back to stock in case the battery is not strong enough. Where I live and ride sometimes it gets very cold (-25 to -35 Celsius)

Welter
There are quite a few different batteries out there that will work, I was looking at some motor cycle batteries that are quite a bit smaller than the stock battery, but will start the RX1 very easily, yet are quite a bit lighter. I went with this one because it was easily available and it has ample cranking amps down to -20 and saved a lot of weight.

SAME HERE, UNABLE TO VIEW PICS. :o|

i use these batteries in my girls electric cars. a friend does service for checkout machines at grocery stores. these batteries are used to back up the computers. they get changed out weather they are good or not. he gives me the good ones for the cars. they last well and have great power. they work better than the power wheel batteries that come with the cars.

never thought they would turn over an rx. good idea.

i too can not see the pictures. whats up.
