Has anyone tried gripper or pilot 6.9's? I'm looking to try something different then the curves. Looking for less steering effort

Dual carbide Pilots should lightening the steering effort. There are single and dual carbide Pilot 6.9's. However, my experience with them on the RX sled I had and my Phazer is that they don't turn very well in powder or off trail. The single carbide Pilots should turn better off trail but more than likely will have a higher steering effort. G.B.

i recently install a set of 6.9 with brp 8" in the center and 6" outside on my xtx i did about 1500 km with them so far.... on hard pack they dart and twitch a bit they also push a bit on inital turn in the loose snow . i messed around with shock preload limiter strap and the transfer rod . i find that incressing center shock preload ,lengthening the limiter strap and adjusting the transfer rod to max setting help a lot with the steering effort in my case... off trail they are awsome tho i had a wicked deal on them but if i had to do it all over again i would go with C&A

Thanks for the input! I had c&a razors before my curves and they where a bearcat to turn.

had pilots on my vector. put 6"carbide center and regular wear bar no carbide on outside lessened ski pressure a hair. worked fine and thats one heavy tank i tell ya.

Did you shim them? I run C&A trail X's and have them shimmed, they don't feel overly hard on the arms. I run 7.5" shaper bars on the and the carve well in all conditions
