141 has always been heavier on the front. Even with the Mohawks it is a bit too hard to my taste.

350 miles on the new sled and the Tuners have got to go! Did 75 miles yesterday and trail conditions had the sled darting like crazy. So much that I started to get motion sick! Ended the day with sore shoulders and feeling like a sack of hammered a**holes. Ordered Dans recommended setup, should be here Monday. Hope it’s as good as everyone says....

My tuners would dart and push so bad in looser snow they were outright dangerous. I tried many different suspension settings and different carbides and they still sucked. Finally last year I set up a pair of 5.7’s as per Dan and they transformed my sled. Mine needed no shim either and the carbides are wearing perfect. The only thing they had was a slight push at times . I totally fixed that this year by tightening my limiter 1 hole. The sled handles perfect now. It handles super flat and seems to be glued to the trail even in bumpy turns with loose snow.350 miles on the new sled and the Tuners have got to go! That’s good to hear. It’s all very promising.
This being my first Yammi and first brand new machine, I have to admit, it’s diheartening to have to go through all of this just to make it go down the trail safely and comfortably. I mean, it’s not like I’m modding it for racing, just want it to go down the trail!
The information and support this forum has provided keeps me hopeful that I haven’t wasted, and am continuing to waste a pile of hard earned money on something that shouldn’t require this kind of attention out of the box.
Appreciate everyone’s contributions, it keeps me from wallowing in a pool of buyers remorse!

I couldn’t keep up with my wife on her Polaris pro r if she led for a while. We weren’t even going that fast. Push was so bad in looser snow I had to sit on the handlebars and slow to 10mph to negotiate the turns. On harder pack it still pushed and it would dart also. You will be very happy once you get them dialed in for your sled .That’s good to hear. It’s all very promising.

No it's a Monotube Alum-HP GAS-1.5Do you have an air shock on front of skid?

I too felt like I purchased the wrong sled last year with the 2018 SW 141 until I hopped on this forum. These guys are great with info sharing and step by step instructions so once I made a few suggested changes this is a wicked sled. Yeah I have had better out of the box but this one was worth the effort cause it ROCKS! Make sure to do the Rocker Dan suggested ski swap, pump your air shocks front & back up to max capacity, add a skid plate from Barn of Parts and yer on yer way.

You should be able to lighten your steering by stiffening your front skid shock and softening your rear skid spring. This should give you transfer, which should be no trouble on an un-coupled suspension. Some recommend softening the front ski springs. I tried this and hated it. I am the opposite. I keep my front pretty stiff.
This set-up is still stiff on sharp turns where you have to transfer weight to front but on medium turns where you can keep some speed through and weight transfer to rear it is good.

Installed the pilots Tuesday and headed up to the St. Ignace for a test run. I immediately noticed an improvement in steering, so much easier. Darting had also improved, even on the hard crusty stuff. Dropped a hole on the limiters, got rid of some back end “waggle” but it still felt like the skis were being driven into the ground. Tried to increase forward shock pressure, but the locknut was so tight, the wrench bent.
Put on 200+ miles Wednesday. Still needs tweaking, but confidence in corners and overall ride has improved.
Dropped it off at the shop this morning for the 500 mile service with a short laundry list. Can’t wait till it’s done so I can play with it some more!

My limiter is 1 tighter than stock. My front springs are loose and my center shock is cranked up some. I am very happy. Do 1 adjustment at a time.

Fresh out of the shop, 96 fresh studs, freshly groomed trails and fresh powder. Made a couple of suspension adjustments and WOW! Completely different sled! So much lighter feeling! Love it! Big shout out to Rockerdan, Fourload and everyone else’s recomendations and encouragement! Thank you.

Glad you are happy. All the thanks goes to Dan who started this thread. We all have slightly different shock packages ,suspension settings, track lengths, studs ,rider weights and styles. Fine tuning is what makes the package great in the end.

Another 700 miles last week in the UP. Did not mess with the shocks but this trip the conditions were totally different. 2' of lake effect snow at Lake in the Clouds, 2 ' of powder on Lake Goegebic and trails that were 1 lane only due to the amount of snowfall last week. Again I was totally happy with how that thing performed. I really pushed it on the lake going balls out and it floated like a boat. Turning in that condition was tough but thats that in 2' of fluff. All the trails were groomed underneath with 8" of fluff on top and the ski set up rocked. At night when temp dropped below 5 there was a little darting but wasn't an issue.Glad you are happy. Gonna play with the shocks Wayne suggested next.

A quick question for those of you that have tried this setup. I have the skis, loops etc (and my Rouskis haha) and have to pick carbides. I read about 25 random pages and the initial recommendation was for 8" executives and now it may have shifted to the 8" ACE bar bith in addition to the stock outers. I am swapping to a 1.75 Hurricane Track and will run unstudded at first but may add iGrips. Would one be better than the other for my setup? Any advice is appreciated.

Get snow trackers from Travis at Barn of Parts... I’ve tried lots of ski and carbide combos... you won’t be disappointed!
