pilot jets plugged up again

Yeah its wierd I had my 03 for 4 yrs never had a problem. Always used Sta-Bil last season had the cars off 3 times finally had the dealer go over them. we changed filters flushed the tank everything. Finally blew the motor now I am injected & hope I never have to clean carbs again. OK thats a pipe dream still have 2 V-max's and an 05 RX in the stable.

I would just drain the carbs. Its so easy and guarantees no problems. If you look at your carbs with the airbox off you will see an allen bolt facing you on the bottom of each carb. Behind that you will also notice a tapered tube coming out of the carb. Put a small hose over this tube and loosen those allen bolts. The fuel will drain out in a clean and controled manner Through the tube you have placed over the spout on the bottom of the carb. Now you have no fuel left in the carbs and no problems to deal with next fall. It takes about five minutes.

I have drained my RX Warrior carbs in the spring, but the jets still plug in the fall. Just have to get used to cleaning the carbs every year I suppose.

I'm going to try this stuff next fall:

It was in a snowtech issue about how fuel gums up carbs/injectors and they found this stuff to work real well. I may also put in race gas the last 1/8 tank of the year as well. I may possibly drain the bowls to, anything to get away from cleaning the damn things all teh time.

I have never cleaned the carbs on my rx-1 before season. They have not got clogged over summer. Once have I got clogged pilots during season. My sled is stored in a dry and unheated garage over the summer. I do not drain the carbs either, but I siphoon the tank as much as I can and use the old gas in my car. Then I refuel completely with new fuel before starting the sleds when season starts. I do not start the engine when in storage, never.
