I have an 08 Nytro that I installed 5.7 pilots on. I am running 6inch carbides on the center and 4 inch on the outside. I have the front limiter strap pulled up on the 3rd hole and center spring down to the bottom of the threads on the shock body.
Now hear is my question....
One thing I have noticed using these pilot skies is that they push and plow on blacktop that has a light snow cover, i.e. turning around in a gas station. They also plow in powder(understandable it's a trail ski).
Anyone else experience this?

Same here. I'm wondering if more carbide helps? I think someone suggested pulling down the front strap 1 hole.

Yea. That's exactly what the 5.7s did for me. They're very good on hardpack, but that's about it. Anything else and they push. I ended up going to a different ski.

Mine turns on a dime with 6"/4" shaper bars but mine are 6.9s.

I dont know of too many skis that dont push on blacktop or concrete. I have learned to stand on the outside running board when turning in a gas station.
That seems to put more weight on the outside ski and the sled will turn alot better.

6.9s have deeper keels. If I were to put pilots on again, I would go with 6.9s.

I have 5.7's on mine with 7.5" in the middle and 6" on the outside, I have only one ride with them on my 09, but I liked them the sled handled pretty good no darting just straight. I never touched my limiter but I did loosen of my center shock quite a bit and took a lot of ski presuure off. I found a post on here were someone did that with pilots and they liked it. yes they don't steer to hot on Pavement but I'm more about worried about the trails. I noticed my buddies rev do the same thing. I will find out more this weekend. I think the 08's may be diff. then the 09's but not sure. Do a search there is tons on here to read.

Anyone tried the MTX skis on there sled? I was in the boat of looking for more floatation and did not know what to go with. I tried the pilot 6.9's and was not sold. Went with MTX on a whim and could not be happier. They turn everywhere I want. The worse the trail is the better they perform.
