I guess those ads with the ski doo having needing new pistons where true I have a 2011 ski doo 800etec in my fleet with 3212mi on it. There is a warrantee bullitin to replace pistons and rings and inspect crank seal. If crank seal wasnt installed correctly then it need a new crank too. They arent doing the work until the sleds have 3150mi on them. I guess Im getting a new top end for this year.

Yea....have a riding buddy with the same issue on his 2011 800 ETec. Apparently not too uncommon of a problem. He got the updated rings and pistons installed last season after the blow-up. he said there were huge chunks missing from the top of the piston that was replaced. He did have over 3k miles on the sled. He was told the crank seal was ok. I guess he'll find out this winter.

B.R.P=Bring Rings & Pistons!! I guess this slogan exists for a reason!
