Any one know if one is better than the other. I ordered the new Snophone and am getting the run-around from Collett-it's been a month since I ordered and still not here. Thinking of ordering the Chatterbox-I see they got one with 5 mile range now. Is there a place on the Apex/Attack to hook these up directly.

I've got the chatterbox now. We've used them for 2 years. Actually work
good, but the vox is not great. We use push to talk buttons on the handlebars. Batteries in them easily lasts all day.
I also have snophone on order for a month and have heard nothing. Looking forward to trying them.

Platnium 900

Our group bought the Platnium 900's last year and we love them. The range is good not great (1/2 to 3/4 of a mile in forest and about a mile on a lake), but the VOX works great. We typically have 4-8 guys on the same club channel and if the VOX is not right the entire group suffers so that feature in itself is important. They improved safety 10X while in a group utilizing the 8 sets of eyes.. The batteries last all day and are stored in the warmth of your suit to avoid temperature discharge and extra helmet weight. The final feature is the groomer beacon. Within a mile or so of a groomer this thing rings like smoke alarm!!!! I guess there are 5000 beacons provided at no charge to trail grooming clubs throughout portions of te US and Canada. For my buck it's the Platnium 900. The new snow-phone eliminates the hookup for a cell phone or ipod, but is cheaper. I never use he cell phone or Ipod so the 129 snowphone is a great value!

What he said. ;)!

Our group has used 900s since 1998. They are huge safety factor, it would feel really wierd riding without them. We had them updated a few years back. Groomer feature is VERY nice, it has warned us many times. Never had a problem with batteries not lasting a full day, sometimes 2 days when you forget to charge overnight.
